A simple quote will feed their ego and it actually inspires them to post more. We don't want that.

This dunk was absolutely filthy. Not even the most dedicated haters can deny the aesthetic brilliance of Kobe's game.

But just to point out your hypocrisy, in your "LeBron lost a step" thread, you repeatedly stated that the only dunks which impress you are the posters, the ones where the dunker beats his defender off the dribble. Kobe had a clear path to the basket off of the rebound here. If it were LeBron doing the same exact thing, you would not be impressed. I'm sure you understand this deep down.

Yes.

Lebron's clear path is a regular dunk in a meaningless game. "Dat eye level doe"

Kobe gets a clear path and goes with a double pump reverse dunk, in a game fighting for division title.

Kobe has a lot of cojones and bravado to even attempt this.

More importantly, Jordan was better at actually dunking ON people. He played in by far the deepest era for dominant shot-blocking centers, and over the course of his career he put iconic posters on every last one of them. This is the most important aspect of dunking TBH. Finesse, power, aesthetics... :sleeping ... All that matters is, can they do it over a shot blocker? In this regard, Jordan > Vince > Kobe > LeBron. It disgusts me how LeBron NEVER dunks on shot blockers.I'n not entirely sure I agree. Or at least, I don't think I could punish Vince Carter in the "dunk-on" category. From what I've witnessed, outside of Shaquille O'Neal, Vince Carter just about jammed on every single big man presented to him at least once during his career. Dikembe Mutombo (twice), Alonzo Mourning (three times), Ben Wallace, Theo Ratliff, Emeka Okafor, David Robinson, Josh Smith, Shawn Bradley, Vlade Divac, Andrei Kirilenko, Samuel Dalembert, Michael Olowokandi, Bo Outlaw (only included because he was actually a solid shot blocker), and 7'2'' Frederic Weis (who was a scrub, but Carter cleared him altogether, so it almost evens out).

Carter seemed to have no problem with dunking on, around, over, or through defenders throughout his career. If he was primed at the same time as Patrick Ewing, Mark Eaton, and Hakeem Olajuwon, I trust he would not have objected to challenging those guys like he did Deke and Zo.

In terms of moves/style/power/elevation, of course he wasn't, but it's a very tough argument as to who was better at completing an improbable dunk on a shot blocker. Both were excellent. My heart says Jordan wins but I'm smart enough to know my own bias.
