I sold my iPad on eBay earlier. I just got an e-mail supposedly from PayPal/eBay about his payment. I've noticed grammatical errors in the message. I googled "assurance message for your sales item ebay" and "assurance message for your sales item paypal" and got no results.
However, the address is showing up as "eBay.co.uk" in my inbox. Here is a picture:

No it isn't in there. The e-mail says the funds have been taken out of his account to be put into mine when I send it which is the red flag for me.

Its harmless dude. Theyre just trying to make sure everything is on the up and up. This has happened to me before. Give them ur SS# and your driver license info just so they can match everything up and youll be all set. Its nothin to worry bout. But make sure you verify everything theyre asking for.

i just read about a scam in which they spoof the ebay email and try to make you believe that the money has been approved and is merely in e-transit or something.
apparently it's all just BS to get you to ship the item. the money never does show up because the email is faked.

I had my suspicions immediately. I've posted the same thing on both eBay and PayPal's message boards to see what they say, but at the moment I'm convinced its fake.

if this email is from ebay, it'll also be in your messages when you log onto ebay. also, call ebay if you aren't sure.

The eBay agent chat is annoying. I'm supposedly talking with eBay employees but they're telling me things I've already done or told them and asking dumb questions. One asked me "is it the item or the buyer you're having trouble with?" Now I'm on hold :banghead:
