Galaxy S4 blows.

If I can offer a word of advice to anyone buying a smartphone, don't buy a new model unless it's iPhone which usually don't have problems with early releases.

I've had two HTC's in the past, they were complete shit. Went to the Galaxy S4 and had an initial problem and got mine replaced but it's still meh. Prone to overheating and other problems.

iPhone 5s might be your best bet.

I love my S4. Never had any problems with it. :confusedshrug:

I don't own an iPhone and I've always owned Android, but iPhone is the best right now to me as far as stability and consistent functional use.

If you need to pick an Android phone I would recommend the Motorola X, Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 3 and LG G2 in that order. The Motorola X offers a great build experience for the price you pay for it and the Moto X is definitely a battery sipper. For whatever reason Motorola was able to make Android fun very efficiently on this phone.

Personally I still own a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it's over 3 years old and is running CyanogenMod 11 (4.4.2 Kit Kat) and it still runs great.

After my contract runs out with Verizon I'll definitely be looking at pre-paid plans.

If I had to choose it would be the Motorola X or Nexus 5 for me. The Nexus is a top-tier spec device that only lacks in the camera area slightly. The Motorola X is an efficient mid-tier device that gives a consistent experience.

if you could get your hands on HTC Butterfly S, please do (make sure it's the S). Otherwise it's a toss up between LG G2 and HTC One for me.

- Nexus 5 if you want to buy it unlocked and don't care about the camera and battery too much.

- Note 3 is way too big as a phone just so you know. In general, Samsung's shitty UI causes their phones to lag after a while. My dad has a Note 2 so I'm speaking from experience.

- HTC one is another great phone but I'm not too sure about its battery life.

- iPhone 5s is obviously one of the best packages out there. If you're comfortable with iOS and are happy with the screen size, it's the obvious choice.

S4.best phone. Unless you want to go apple and get the new iphone5s that has a 8mp camera and constantly have to update Lmfao. They don't even fully upgrade their specs when upgrading new releases they always grab you by the throat.

S4 with cyanogenmod 11 rather than the stock TouchWiz, will be the ultimate phone you've ever use, and most complete. Cyanogenmod also will fully support i9500 models. 13mega pixel camera? Blows iPhone out the water. Stupid fan boys. Some people actually like spending their money wisely.

The amount of shit I can do on this phone without even hacking it is beautiful. I feel like I'm not held down by Android and Samsung. Hacking and enjoying absolutely everything I can do to mod it and change different roms (operating system) it's just great. Really is.

I can't wait to put CM back on my s4 the interface blew me away.

HTC one, if you guys don't know had huge internal problems with the company itself. Search it up, people were resigning left and right. I wouldn't go with them because of that.

All smartphones are battery hogs. And unless you have the Note 3, you're gonna need to charge it multiple times a day if you do more than just call and text.

HTC One is still beast, although it's been out almost a year. Wait for HTC One 2? lol what a name.

I got an iPhone 5 when it came out and I still like it. Don't see any reason not to get the next gen iPhone (6?) whenever my contract is up.

I had the S3 with CM on it and it was a good phone. I wanted a change of pace and got the Iphone 5, and I like it alot more. Sure IOS is a bit restrictive and even with jailbreaking I felt CM was much easier to customize and I had more control of it. But IOS runs better and smoother.

Same. I had the Galaxy S3 before switching to iphone 5. Overall I have been more satisfied with the iphone. I'm not sure if I'll switch back, I'll see once my contract is up. Right now I'm leaning towards the iphone. It's been more reliable, better battery life, and my car is iphone friendly which is super convenient.

Ye I agree.

Also the Iphones hold onto their value much better. An Iphone 4, a phone that was released almost 2 years before the S3, is selling for a similar price as the S3 on craigslist and eBay.

Really? My work iPhone 5 has been incredible battery wise, though I guess I don't do any non-work stuff on it.

My Note 2 + 2x battery app has been pretty dependable.

Corollas and Civic have great resale values too, but that doesn't change the fact that they are refrigerators on wheels

Note 3 for me.

As with everything people all have their personal choices.

Yet for me the Wacom digitizer and battery are essential for me. this and the fact that it plays just about every video and audio codec i have tossed on it. The screen is nice bit dont buy it for the camera. Desoite it being 14 mp it isnt as crisp as i would hope. Still multi screens is cool.. watching streaming sports with firefox and other sites with flash works as well doing much more does it for me.

Iphones may be ok for some but I can't stand that small ass screen and the content lockdown and control.
I haven't used my laptop as much anymore. So it has changed alot. If you want something that is basic and you can just jump in. Apple is for you.
If you want something that is closer to a pc in what it does then look into android.

Well

I've been trying to hold off on getting a phone for a while. I will likely get a phone with Wind Mobile (Ottawa), but they don't carry the iPhone. Im forced to select an Android phone for the moment so Im trying to decide between the HTC One and the Nexus 5. I've been watching videos and reading reviews and they're neck to neck.

But I'll only have the phone for 15 days (or 30 minutes of talk time), after which I'll get an iPhone (once I get paid... new job).

But who knows... perhaps I keep an Android phone (highly doubt it).

So, I ask my feller ISH bros, which one should I go with:

Nexus 5 or HTC One?

I will be leaving in 30 minutes so please hurry!!!

HTC One, probably the more Iphone like of the 2 with its build quality and audio (despite being thought of as a gimmick to some, beats audio phones sound great imo)

Yeah, you can get an iPhone and use it for a two year contract, then sell it for the contract price of the new one and then some if you take care of it.

Apple covers their phones much better. Things that I've had to have insurance for with other phones and then pay a deductible for a shoddy refurb model with lesser materials, I get covered for free with Apple and it's not a shitty replacement.

Not only is it the best phone I've had, but it's been the cheapest one to own.

Yeah that's what Im leaning towards. I really like their UI as well, I understand that Nexus is Google as it was meant to be, but the HTC just looks sweet.

I won't be having it for long either so it may be easier for me to adjust to the HTC One. Although it is a bit more expensive....

I just moved to a new country, bought a new home and just starting a new job Monday dude.

I'll be able to afford the iPhone in 2 weeks with no issues whatsoever, but I haven't been paid yet (2 weeks) and my savings are gone with no cheques coming in from the states (gotta get used to Canadian spelling  )

I got hear this question everyday at work...

I'm rocking a nexus 5 from Google play store... 32gbs...

Don't like the battery... camera is more than fines.. Mother****efs obsessed about megapixel zzzz read what that actually does...

Performance... Its quicker than my note 3 when I had that... Note 3 battery is a beast tho, can't kill it...

Nexus 5 pisses me off with all the Google snyc shit tho... I don't like hangouts (its what it uses instead of messaging) I don't like Google chrome because it won't let u upload pics from ur phone gallery... And I don't like Google always trying to sync with everything or request shit... Google photos Scare me...

I'm trying to get people to buy the flex... See what that's all about... Still haven't

Sony's design is lame on the z1s... But its prolly good

All these phone are "good"... As they should be for them all being over 500 dollars.. Except nexus which is cheaper and good value...

G2... Its gotten hot as time goes.. Some people just don't like the button on the back but no real complains...

S4..,, most popular seller.... And will prolly continue to be for awhile

Oh.. I was only gonna use it for 15 days then return it :D

I just need something to be contacted for the time being.

I ended up getting a cheap phone even tho Im eventually getting my money back. I may find an iPhone on Kijiji for a good price.
