View Full Version : Why do people hate Indiana all of a sudden?

Rik Smits' Hair

The game threads are full of whining fans from teams not involved in the game. Every loss or bad game we get the overrated talk.
Is it because ESPN started claiming Indiana as a threat to Miami's reign?
Is it because people think that the players get more hype than they deserve?
What is the driving factor in the surge of hatred?

Who hates them?

Lebron stans? yeah why is that a surprise.

OKC are a very likeable team but they had plenty of hate from time to time. Thats part of being a top contender. All of them get hate...apart from maybe Spurs.

Just like you who keeps on hating on lebron and Miami because at age 29 Lebron officially surpassed 36 yrs.old Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd.

Their record vs teams over .500 leaves a lot to be desired. They are a good club but getting overrated playing in the East.

You can blame ESPN for pretty much any hate any top team gets. With the Pacers they overrate them and act too much like they are some unstoppable team simply because they dominate trash teams and do above average vs good teams.

If The Pacers were in the West they'd be competing with Portland and the Clippers as the 3rd/4th best team.

Dirk is a top 25 player of all time. Dude choked in the first round of the 2007 NBA playoffs and he was outplayed by a 6"2' Baron Davis in that series.

LBj is currently rank higher than 1x NBA MVP and 2x Finals MVP Hakeem and Kobe.

There's a difference between hating a team and thinking they're overrated. But after observing ish behavior for a while, I'd say it's LeBron haters and Indiana fans so that if they take out the heat they can clown LeBron for losing to a less stacked team or start propping up Paul George as a superstar who carried his team to the finals.

I hope it's not heat/LeBron fans saying that cuz they would be doing it all wrong. They gotta prop up Indiana so that if the heat win they can say that LeBron finally beat a more stacked team.

in those two series we all know that the heat are heavily favored due to their stackness (okc is young and inexperienced and led by a 23yr old, spurs are old and led by almost 40yr old duncan). people knew before those series even started that chances are, heat will win. yet the heat almost managed to lose in 2012.

LeBrons stans act like OKC is lucky they didn't see Miami or some shit when they just got done shitting on the team Miami couldn't beat.

Seriously, all OKC fans are hoping for Miami so we can watch pre prime Durant shit on LeBron in his prime.

If Kendrick Perkins doesn't play Miami stands no chance. This isn't 9PPG Ibaka they faced 2 years ago in the Finals. This isn't the same bench. This isn't the same coach. Isn't the same Westbrook and Durant. Miami is significantly worse as well.

Watch LeBron's interview after that OKC game. He seemed very impressed and taken back by Perry Jones who came out of nowhere and got 30 minutes. OKC fans have been knowing he's a good player but secretly hoping we saved him as a secret weapon for the playoffs.

Heat fans can say we are too stacked or whatever they want. If Perkins doesn't see the floor, they have no chance.

Dirk was not even efficient in the 2011 NBA Finals. The Chandler and Dallas defense was the no.1 reason why they won over weaker Miami Heat team. They shutdown Lebron, and they losses the series.

Be honest kid. What do you know about NBA history outside of LeBron's ********?

Kareem won a ring before Magic. And, deserved the FMVP in 1980. But, of course, you don't actually KNOW NBA history.

Go do something with your life, clearly assessing basketball isn't your forte.

Lebron already won back to back NBA titles. And people are still posting his 2011 NBA gifs.

At least he's no longer ringless, and He's already a top 9 NBA player of all time.
Is this everything you do in life? Browsing forums 24/7 talking about Lebron's irrelevant accolades?

My argument stands:

Yes. He needed a ROOKIE Magic to win a ring ffs.

2 FMVPs out of 6 rings is just a tainted legacy, a beta legacy.
lebron needed wade and bosh and ray allen in the weak east conference to win rings versus an inexperienced team in 2012 and an old team in 2013. beta legacy

Actually, Lebron23 brought them up, in a thread about Indiana. In fact, he brings up Lebron's accolades in EVERY thread. So yeah, they are irrelevant to this (or every other) thread.

Oh look, another thread decapitated by the insecurities of the stan community

Sure didn't see that coming.
Glad I didnt see the thread until it was already derailed....By the way, I called the hate a long time ago, could see it coming a mile away, Hibber's overrated, George is overrated, Lance is a thug and he's not even close the same level of Aaron Affalo or Wesley Matthews, George Hill is pathetic and does not deserve a spot on an NBA roster...move along, nothing new to see here....just a bunch of pathetic grown men blowing the sacks of other grown men...In other words....stans....sad....

Well, I can see the "hate" coming from being on a winning teams and unlikable personalities from what I've seen.

-Lance Stephenson ? The choke sign he did to the Heat in 12 and being a pest over the last and this season make him the first target of hatred towards the Pacers. Outside of that, he's a pretty well-rounded basketball player and knows his role. I thought he would be a fringe all-star choice, didn't really get the "guaranteed" spot from the TNT crew.

-David West ? Some say he's "soft" and a fake tough guy who goes after players for no reason. Outside of that, he's brought a lot of good veteran leadership to the Pacers. Didn't get why some thought he was an all-star, he wasn't getting the nod.

-Roy Hibbert ? All big men get hated on, it's just natural to hate goliaths. Didn't help himself with the "no homo" remark. Outside of that, he's the frontrunner (or run away) DPOY candidate. Still needs to rebounds and be more efficient, but I think he plays his role top notch on this team.

-Paul George ? I think he's the most likable, until this whole baby mama drama. Outside of that, he's a solid 2 way player who's in a slump right now. It could be the off court stuff, but I think a lot of players go on slumps, he should be fine.

-George Hill ? Can be a pest on defense, but not really that unlikable.

-Danny Granger ? Solid player when he wasn't so injury prone as he is now, but I remember he's always trying to start something with other players to get under people's skin. I've seen the duels with James and Bosh before. Outside of that, he can be a serviceable 6th man off the bench come playoff time.

-Luis Scola ? Another pest big man, but not really that unlikable.

-Andrew Bynum ? Well, where to start ? Pouting, selfish, and just a huge scum bag overall. I really don't know how he gets to be on this team after all the bullshit be pulls in the last 3 years. Outside of that, in the limited minutes he plays he can give the Pacers some more low post scoring... but only limited minutes and the players need to keep him in check if he fall out of line.

Now, this is not to say that I agree with everything posted, but I can see in the past a lot of what I just typed being brought up. Personally, it's a great for a young team like them that have drafted and traded solid veterans to create such a well-rounded team. I actually don't mind the any form of hype they get, they've been living up to it for the most part.

I would like for the Raptors to play them in the playoffs because I've said before that we match up great with them and it would a great defensive series. Would go the distance.

Just hate the hype there getting when the only real contenders is the east are Miami and brooklyn

Brooklyn hasn't shown it can find any form of consistency yet, nor are they in position to win the division title. Their in position to lose in the first round.

Why did people hate Boise St when they played the garbage schedule they did?

Because they get sucked off by ESPN on the reg but take any of the top 7 teams in the West and replace Indiana with them, and they look amazing too.

You think GSW is 30-20 playing 3 games against Orlando and Boston and Chicago and the Sixers and the Bucks and the Bobcats?

Would Houston?

What about the Pelicans, who sit at 22-27 right now? 9-22 against the west, 13-5 against the east. They would look like all stars too.

I don't hate the pacers, I hate espn for not placing an asterisk by their team record.

You sound so ****ing retarded.. Dirk had a bad series, so what? Everyone does. It's not like Dirk was guarding Baron Davis, so why does his height matter.

LeBron had the greatest choke of all time in the finals and he was outplayed by a 6'2" Jason Terry in that series.

I have no problem with the Pacers. Small market team that rebuilt after the Artest/O'Neal/Tinsley years.

Behind my team, they're on the short list of other teams I would be ecstatic to see win it all.

I called it when people started hyping them. Posters here will love an up and coming player or team but when they develop into a real threat to their side they start hating them.

Yup. Part of the reason I cringe when my Blazers start getting love. Then you get dumbass fans, for and against, that manage to suck some of the joy out of it.

I don't mind dissing or talking a little trash. But if you lose, take your licks, give props, and move on. So much stupid shit on this forum because people have permanent sand lodged in their ass.

PG is top 10 at best. Most overrated player in history, he is still a tier below Melo and a couple tier below Bran and Durant.
