Where can a brodie get high bitrate mp3s?

I prefer to use my ipod through the adapter when I drive my vee-hickle rather than play CDs for convenience purposes. But obviously CDs sound much better because songs downloaded from itunes only have a 256 bit rate which is decent but not great, and then of course anything converted from youtube is at like 128 which is brutal.

Is there anywhere I can download music with quality sound without having to buy a CD and rip it? I dont mind paying, I just want something that sounds better than itunes if I am gonna pay. And is there anywhere that offers high quality free downloads of legally accessible music (concerts n thangs)??

Basically anywhere that I can find downloadable music at a high bit rate will be really awesome. I will rep if rep comes back, or send you a handjob through the mail.

Do you know what the legal standing of that site is? I mean I assume most of those songs are under copyright but I would assume a website that big and popular with free illegal downloads would have been shut down. Or no?
