Asked this a nba forum thread.

Someone said their favorite pizza topping is "Brooklyn Style pepperoni." This is a thing?

Thin crust, great big slices so you can fold it in half...

Pepperoni made from an animal that was shot in the back of the head, dumped in the Hudson and then dredged up six months later.

So it's describing the whole pizza not just the pepperoni?

Never ever heard this phrase in Brooklyn.

Of course Canadadiens don't say aboot, they say abut. Still don't pronounce it right though.

Also I've never seen a Brooklynite eat pizza this way either.

God you are a clueless fvcking putz. It was a mafia joke, not a NY joke. You didn't get that and you also didn't understand that when someone says "Brooklyn style pepperoni pizza" they mean just that and not "Brooklyn style pepperoni.

Except they weren't saying Brooklyn style pepperoni pizza. They said their favorite topping was Brooklyn style pepperoni.

Yeah, it's a bad mafia joke. And Brooklyn is on East River. The best mafia joke about water is about the Gowanus Canal in Red Hook where Al Capone was born. The Gowanus Canal is the only body of water that's 90% guns.

That joke is lame as hell. I guess you'd have to be the kind of hipster fgt who puts nyc in his username to think that's funny.

If they put "american place" in front of any type of traditional food it probably means a watered down fake version of the real deal.

Sometimes they are sneaky with it, like pepperoni which is just stale salami with food dye.

OK it's a Domino's thing.

Found this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/08/dining/08domino.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0)from when they introduced it
[QUOTE]Adam Kuban, the founding editor of www.sliceny.com, a Web site devoted to New York pizza, felt it was his duty to taste the new pizza. Mr. Kuban declared it good

Actually that was the second slice. You buy per kg, that perticuar pizza was 12euro/kg so i bought ~300g which came out to 3.75... it's quality stuff so you expect to pay a bit more but it's still a good deal. Food in Roma isn't cheap though, so you have to take that into consideration.

Yesterday i had one of the best pizza's of all time. It legitmately sounds disgusting but my god... So it was the italian crust with sauce baked together then ontop was this arugula-type sauce with fresh lettuce, shrimp and roma tomatoes... soo good. I took a picture but i shared it on FB so im not going to post it here.

I'd want to go to Italy but my sister lived in Rome and said gypsies were insane and there were constant stories of them poking peoples eyes out on the subway and shit like that.

:biggums:

I've been here for three days now and i haven't seen that. The only thing you have to watch on the Subway is theives, but anyone who has visited NY knows this. They just wait until the doors are about to shut and go for the shirt pocket or cellphone that most are using.

My biggest gripe with italy has been just the amount of people, it's noon here and it's fairly warm and packed with people. I like going out a bit later so it's cooler and easier to deal with them before getting frustrated.

I'm off to athens tonight for a few days - that should be just as pleasant and probably a bit more affordable and raw.

Not in roma but in florance or other not so-touristy places yes, generally a meal takes 1-2 hours to eat because its a time for gathering eating/drinking with family. Speaking of Spain i just got back from there, Barcelona to be specific. So far that's been my favorite place of this vacation (Paris, Luxembourg, Barca, Roma and Athens).

The only thing you have to watch on the Subway is theives, but anyone who has visited NY knows this.

Um. NYC subways are much safer than the streets.

The subways get 5.6 million riders a day during the week. (that's probably 2-3 million individual people.) And there is less than 6 major crimes a day.

For all of last year, my subway stop had 125 crimes total. While There were 7.6 million rides.

Times Square averages 1 crime per every 200,000 riders.

It's not uncommon for folks to have their Ipod or Ipad out on the train.

It's not like when I first moved here Missouri.

To me, that is just the rank of popular, much of which is based on people wanting the "original." Taste wise though, give me New York out of those.

Native New Yorker but been to Chicago. Chicago deep dish pizza is legit for sure. After 2-3 slices, you're pretty much full.

It's definitely a pie. I don't like the tomato sauce on the top thing though. I guess I'll always be an East Coaster.

Is that cheese in the middle or just bread? Doesn't look too appeasing, but if that is indeed cheese its probably tasty.
