2 top 10 point guards and Dragic could play combo guard. Now all they have is Lin and Hardon:(

Both of those guys have the freedom to play to their styles , its obvious Mcfail is at fault here limiting his PGs potentials

Houston wasn't going anywhere with Lowry or Dragic. They had to make changes to get better pieces.

Trading Lowry got us the pick to be able to throw in in the trade for James Harden so we came out ahead on that one. Oh and Lowry wanted out because he didn't get along with McHale so there's that as well.

Dragic wanted a player option and we didn't want to give him one for whatever reason.

Even still, I don't think we would have made the playoffs last year without Harden and if we had just Dragic or Lowry. I don't think we would look good enough to Dwight Howard to come here without Harden as well. Big picture we're in a better position than I think we would have been with Dragic or Lowry.

the problem of the rockets PGs and as a whole is mchale. dragic and bledsoe never had the chance to shine in rockets, and same goes for lin right now

Does McHale hold back every PG he ever comes in contact with???

Maybe these dudes were like they replaced me for this guy??? And play with a chip on their shoulders and light the league up on fire

Lowry was playing great with the Rockets. But then he got a serious bacterial infection and missed a lot of games, and Dragic took his place. Dragic was playing fantastic, too, and McHale kept Dragic as the starter even after Lowry was healthy again.

McHale didn't hold either of them back. They both played great while in Houston.

I know they constantly got into it. I don't know if it every got that bad, but I wouldn't be shocked to be honest. After he didn't get inserted back in the starting line up it went downhill fast.

Recently, he's been playing fantastic. Last night he had 18 and 6 off the bench

Linconsistent... He always has nice stretches followed by mediocrity. He needs to bring it every night.

Jeremy Lin is really good. McFail is just holding him back.

He averages 21/8 as the first option.

I'm pretty sure the Rockets had all 3 of Lin, Dragic, and Lowry at one point. This was obviously before Linsanity though.

The more freedom Mchale gives him, the better he plays. It's that simple.

The way McHale has been using Lin lately has actually worked for him. The recipe is this:

- Don't pull him out for every little TO he makes. Let him play through it.
- Let him finish the 4th quarters in every game. He's proven to be very clutch and reliable in the 4th.

Is it any surprise that in the last 5 games, Lin has played very well, and the Rockets are on a 5 game winning streak.

Lin is an impact player. He doesn't need a lot of minutes (didn't even crack 30 in his last 3 games) but he needs freedom when he's on the court and to be able to finish out games.

Not very good with your guys' coach :lol

Honestly though, a Derek Fisher/Mario Chalmers type PG is the only kind of PG McHale believes in. I don't even think a Rondo/CP3 type could thrive under him.

I take Lin's numbers with a grain of salt. I don't think teams are actually gameplanning for him yet. Like how they did to stop Linsanity. I think he'd still do good. He's improved his game a lot, but he's not a focal point of the defense yet I don't think.
