Well he hasnt actually reached 10,000 yet. As of February 10th, 2014 he's 37 away. He'll reach it after the all-star weeked.

Congrats, Dwight :applause:

Edit: Just found out he's 337 away not 37. One of the nba announcers said it wrong. Well... atleast he can still be one of the youngest

Definitely one of the best rebounders ever :applause:

Done some work for fantasy teams of mine here and there over the last 8 years (when I can absorb that FT%). On a side note, outside of some of the other players already mentioned (Wilt, Russell, Rodman, etc) have to wonder if David Robinson could have broken this 'record' had he not entered the NBA at 24 a couple years after being drafted. But even then, Dwight came into the league out of high school. Howard had his first 20 rebound game at 18 against the Raptors. Not a huge fan of his but his ability to gather rebounds is impressive no matter how you slice it, reminds me of Zo/Willis/Big Ben.

They could've been the youngest if the NBA allowed HS kids to come out in Wilt & Russells day

fixed

that and they were required to play 4 years in college..

Dwight is 28, Wilt was 28 when he hit 10,000 rebounds, anybody know how many 'days' apart this must be?

BTW, Wilt achieved 10,000 rebounds during his 6th NBA season. At the end of his 5th NBA season he had already amassed 9,875 rebounds.

Wilt had it easy in the 60s. If he was in this era he'd be averaging 14-16 rpg

I know that Howard hit 9,000 at 27 years and 130 days old and Wilt Chamberlain accomplished the same feat at the age of 27 and 144 days.

Wilt's era wasnt as competitive as this era. Put rodman in the 60s and he could possibly be a better rebounder

Rockets are slowly heading for the 2nd seed since he's taken over the leadership role at Houston and they've gotten back their best players from injury.

They also have the longest winning streak in the NBA IRC. :applause:

7 days difference, and that would be Dwight's 751st game.

In other words it took Dwight 354 more games (it took Wilt 397 games to hit 10,000) and a 4 year head start to beat Wilt when comparing by age to 10,000 rebounds.

Still, a record is a record even if it is just an age record so props to Dwight if he gets it :applause:

If I calculated correctly using an age calculator...

Wilt was 10308 days old

whereas

Dwight will be 10301 days old

Ok

Dwight needs to do it in 17 days. Actually 16 for it to be his sole record, 17 to tie.

Wtf? Dwight currently has 9663 rebounds, including tonight's game (15).

Dwight won't get 337 rebounds in 16 days.

He would need to average 21rpg in that span. Not happening.
