the tank is strong

we might go as high as #3 (buck is lock @1, and seeing how strong sixers tank in the past few games, they gonna end up @2)

magic looksg great (beating thunder and pacers on b2b night ) and its only a matter of time before kings start winning

Embiid/Wiggin/Exum come to papa

How are the bucks a lock at N1?

Are people here that clueless?

Chance of N1 pick for the Bucks is 25%.

But , sure, they are a "lock"

IF the lakers get a top 3 pick, the guy (Parker, Wiggins or whoever) will have a hard time living up to the expectation

So much media attention, pressure for a rookie. You have to be really mentally strong.
And I'm not sure having Kobe on the team would be helping him

This is not a thread about draft position it's about the worst record.

Kobe knows all about dealing with intense media pressure in LA as a rookie. He's the best possible guy in the league who could be on the future top picks team.

Vonleh would be a better fit for you guys.

Actually, here's my fit list (not in draft order):

Utah - Jabari Parker (obviously)
LA Lakers - Joel Embiid
Milwaukee - Andrew Wiggins
Orlando - Marcus Smart
Philadelphia - Julius Randle
Sacramento - Noah Vonleh
Boston - Dante Exum
Charlotte - Gary Harris
Cleveland - Dario Saric

I actually don't know much about this draft class. I know Wiggins, Jabari and Embiid but they are all high picks. Is Vonleh a PF?

Vonleh is a power forward who needs to add some weight. He's a good rebounder, can shoot out to about 19ft, and is a good weakside defender. I VERY good fit beside Boogie, a little like Taj Gibson

Like he ruined the development of Caron Butler, Shannon brown, Trevor Ariza and Sasha Vujacic, o wait that's right Caron became an allstar due to Kobe's training and mentorship and Ariza brown and vujacic were only good the one season they trained with kobe.

If Lakers can't get top 3, there'a always Exum, who wants to be a Laker so bad, though he already is one, albeit from a different country.

I've been always high on him, but I'm worried about his potential to become a bust in the nba, considering international basketball is completely different from CBB and NBA

I don't want anything to do with Parker. He'll obviously be a great scorer, but we don't get this kind of pick very often. We have to shoot for the stars with this, so Wiggins, Embiid, Exum are the guys to hope for IMO. Jabari is a safer bet, but has the lowest ceiling of the 4 from what I've heard/seen/read. Smart wouldn't be a terrible pick if we get 5th, but if we drop that low we're ****ed.

Magic is surprising me lately with their good play. I was counting us out of top 5 but seems we may get there, I think Lakers will have to lose 60 games to get at it. That means 4 - 26 the rest of the way.

Not really, it's a percentage thing.
If Bulls got Rose being no.9 (1.9 %) , why not LA (no5 currently) who has 29.1% to land top 3?

Lakers' March and April schedule are really, really tough. A lot of them are played at home, but a lot of those games they are playing against the contenders and the top teams in the west.

Yeah but I was talking about worst record taht gives more chances at the lottery.
I hope Kobe doesn't ruins the tank.

Lol, thought I was gonna see a logical reply, like the Magic getting no.4 or no.5
because they're the the 3rd worst team in the league, and the bottom floor rule starts after lottery selection (no1-3 pick) is over

Honestly I see them falling apart, I just don't like the way they look and Rudy Gay + DMC in the locker room is a recipe for disaster.

They're actually capable of going on a streak. They did so not long ago, they can certainly do it again, considering their talent level. I kinda look at the Kings the same way as a Jazz, a bad but dangerous team because of their talent

Lakers, right now is the 3rd worst team in the league, not record wise but roster wise (at least for now with these injuries). The only thing keeping them from being the 2nd worst team is their unwillingness to tank, like what the Sixers are doing right now. Their toughest months are coming after February. Not to mention, off all deep lottery bound teams, they're the ones with least games to play against sub 500 teams
