This box score from the Chinese Basketball Association is just ridiculous.

Box Score:

http://www.eurobasket.com/boxScores/China/2014/0209_5081_1947.asp

And YES, this IS NBA related. So don't even start that crap. Mods better not move or delete this. As you can see there are NBA players involved there like Delonte West and Mike Harris, and Wang Zhelin that will be an NBA player soon. So it IS NBA related, so don't start that crap.

Anyway, that box score is absolutely absurd.

Bopx scores is different. It differentiates between 2s and 3s. So he was actually 15/27. Which was well below the team %.

Damn. I thought he was more efficient. Going 14/21 while being 1-6 from three would be pretty impressive but that's nothing special then. :(

Also lol @ the fact that 55% shooting was well below the team average. Lots of defense being played I assume. :oldlol:

"OT" (actually, has to be at least quadruple OT): 68-67.
One team took 56 3's.
Someone had 47/13/9 in 27 minutes.

:facepalm

Scratch this: total mp adds up to 365. It was a quintuple OT.

Spencer adjusted stats, if he could have kept this up for the whole game: 127/35/24.

OK, last edit: The scorekeepers probably made a mistake with Spencer's mp's. His team's mp totals are 335, which doesn't make sense (it should be 365, like the other team's totals). So, it makes more sense that Spencer actually played 57 minutes (not 27) and therefore wasn't as outrageously prolific per minute as previously shown.

Performance Index Rating or Performance Index Ranking (PIR)

(Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks + Fouls Drawn) - (Missed Field Goals + Missed Free Throws + Turnovers + Shots Rejected + Fouls Committed)

They don't even try to give any weighting to any of the stats? So a rebound is equal to a missed free throw? That's a weird ass system, you sure it's right?

It's similar to the QB rating in football.

Yeah, basically, like Larry Bird stat, or hockey plus minus stat.

It's considered the most important basketball stat in Europe. Which is absolutely ridiculous.

The most absurd of all though is leagues like Euroleague and Spanish League giving MVP awards solely off that stat.

The fact that it's considered the most important stat in European basketball, says a lot about European basketball

Yes, it says that stat geek nerds need to stay out of it. Just like the fact that PER is considered the most important stat in the NBA, which is equally absurd.

I'm from Europe...and it's really like saying PER is the most important stat in NBA basketball. Pretty much nonsense.

So if Delonte is over in China, who's taking care of LeBron's mom here in the States?
