I recently posted on facebook the I got a deal on a new plan increasing my data to 2 GB. A friend replies back he gets 6 GB.

How the hell does anybody get that high? I work from my phone throughout the day and I average around 1 GB. I can't imagine 6x that amount!?

while he's buried in his phone I'm enjoying life! I'm playing ball, bike riding with my boy, working out, out drinking with my buddies watching a game....

Honestly, do any of you use that much and why?

I couldn't imagine using that much for my phone. I use a lot for my computer though, but that's because I stream basketball and anime so much.

If you stream a lot of video you could get there pretty quick.

I get 2GB, but I always run out of data a week before it gets renewed. 3GB would be perfect :ohwell:

This. Sometimes I get bored and watch youtube/worldstar videos, and it can make my 8GB/mo. disappear pretty quick without realizing it. I don't really need that much but after factoring in how many times I went over and was charged a fat premium, it was cheaper to just get a larger data plan.

Also have to use GPS a lot for work, so there is no way around needing more than 2 GB.

got 5gb from t-mobile, plan is $30 a month for 100 min/ unl. txt/ 5gb data

I haven't reached it but its a nice thing to have since i will mostly use data (i use voip apps or txt to call people i know well so the 100 min is for random calls or to people that don't have smartphones). you can hit the cap if you stream nba games/ movies/ music, I have uploaded all my music to Google Music so I stream them on my phone .

Another thing to consider is where you are when you mess around with internet on your phone. If you mostly play with it at work or home and have wifi connections at both then you probably won't use much of your phone's data.

The main difference between 8 and 2 for me was when I changed jobs/apartments and didn't have my phone on wifi most of the day.

I have unlimited.

I don't know. I find myself waiting all the time for people so I download a bunch of movies and tv shows through torrents on my phone while I wait. That plus streaming I suppose builds up fast. Also tend to fall asleep with Pandora running.

I use around 3 to 4 GB per month, mostly cause I stream songza, YouTube and stuff for music pretty much everyday at work, even when I am not wearing the headphones, just let it play on, F it, I have the unlimited plan.

Yeah, I recently bought a new plan to downgrade from unlimited to 2 GB because it saved me some money. I only use like .6-1 GB per month anyway because I am always on wifi at home or at work.

Spotify and Google Music are big for me too because I can just DL an album and listen to it without streaming.

lol I'm on prepaid and never even come close to my 500mbs. I don't need to watch youtube or non wifi porn on it :lol most the places I am I have wi-fi or time warners got a wifi hotspot (you'd be surprised, shows up in a lot of places). Anywhere I don't, I have no problem using my data. Some of you guys need to look up from your phone :oldlol:

What job do you have that requires you to be on your phone that much?

No he means that he can't use their internet for surfing and such so he's forced to use his personal phone all the time at work.

i have a 10 gig family plan that i share with two of my cousins. its definitely a shit load, and we never hit it, but we can also turn our phones into hotspots through the plan. so its pretty convenient, though, ive never needed to use it as a hotspot.

Yup. And I work on the road when I'm not at home. I use hotspot and have to connect to outlook in order to respond to my e-mails. I'm also on a system called bluelink to look into my customer profiles. So I use it frequently.
I also have an HTC One which apparently uses up a lot of power.
I figure isn't it more affordable and convenient to download all those other things onto a tablet? :confusedshrug:

Yeah my ex works for Verizon and I had unlimited until we broke up and I had to go to 1gb per month. I went over for two months straight. Now I'm back on unlimited.

the signal thing is definitely a problem for many cities, luckily it works fine for where im using it.
