This is just sad. We're being robbed of seeing a legend have a strong finish to his career.

Is there a way to put Dragic in his place in the ASG? :oldlol:
Seriously, though... Wade is falling apart.
I feel the LBJ era in MIA will end this year.

Wtf are you talking about? Dude was a 27/5/7 player from '05-'11. That's a solid 7 years.

@ RoseCity07, Apparently he might only miss the ASG and play the first game after the break.

T-Mac's prime years: 26/6/6/1/1 on 53% TS
Wade's prime years: 26/5/6/2/1 on 57% TS (including the '12 season which is not his prime, but I included it anyway)

Playoffs (T-Mac): 23/6/5/1/1 on 51% TS
Playoffs (Wade): 24/5/5/2/1 on 55% TS

As you can see, Wade has the better stats. This is just by the numbers, btw. Wade's also a MUCH better defender.

Can you give me a SINGLE reason why T-Mac's better than Wade?

Dude, if I include their whole careers, Wade makes T-Mac look like a role-player. That's why I included ONLY the prime years of T-Mac and the prime and ONE out of prime year for Wade. Anyways, since you asked for it:

T-Mac Career Stats: 20/6/4/1/1 on 52% TS
Wade Career Stats: 25/6/5/2/1 on 57% TS

Wade is better that T-Mac at almost everything.

and if u think its deeper than rings u a damn fool and prolly started watching the nba right after the last cba. lmao.

did u watch tmac in Orlando? don't lie and say u did

did u watch him in Houston before the 2009-2010 season?

most u casual fans just assume the guy aint have defense when u have no clue. not sayin tmac was bill Russell but he wasn't no scrub in the least bit. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better shooter then wade.

ill give wade being the better passer by a slight margin.

Sad to hear. Wade's not the best player in the world, but he's te funnest to watch by far imo. Its a real shame injuries are gonna rob us of another talent. 2006-2011 Wade had quite possibly the aesthetically pleasing game I've ever seen. Yes Lebron was probably a tad better, but watching Wade's eurostep fadeaways and watching him slice through defenses never got old.

If this is the beginning of the end, then its been a pleasure to watch Wade:bowdown:

Wade has better stats, more accolades, better defense, and better longevity. Anything I'm missing? Even if you compare their primes and peak, Wade > T-Mac.

From my previous post:

T-Mac's prime years: 26/6/6/1/1 on 53% TS
Wade's prime years: 26/5/6/2/1 on 57% TS (including the '12 season which is not his prime, but I included it anyway)

Playoffs (T-Mac): 23/6/5/1/1 on 51% TS
Playoffs (Wade): 24/5/5/2/1 on 55% TS

T-Mac Career Stats: 20/6/4/1/1 on 52% TS
Wade Career Stats: 25/6/5/2/1 on 57% TS

Prime Tmac at worst was as good as Wade.

Tmac had a better jumpshot, could play both sides of the court and could play inside as well as outside.

IF it wasn't for back injuries Tmac would still be an all star today because he has skills.

I guess after this season is up, its time to call Ennis back from Australia, and start really looking into the draft as to what talent we can get. We need to get younger, quicker and more talented now that our talent is ageing and barely playing.
Its honestly become so bad that I hardly expect Wade to start most games, and am actually surprised when he does play.

He missed a game against the Bucks and IIRC he had his knee drained 2-3 times during the playoffs. He wouldn't be averaging 15/4/4 if he was healthy. Do you not remember him tearing the league a new one, when he was healthy during the streak? He had three bone bruises and hence the drop in production. :facepalm

Wade has Knee pain and sometimes swelling. It's not like he can no longer play Basketball, he just needs painkillers and heat patches to control it. Which is why he still shows up in flashes, while other players with "injuries" are just straight up done.

aj1987

Apparently Wade's playing in the ASG.

NEW ORLEANS -- Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade said Friday he has regained feeling in his left foot and will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's All-Star Game.

Wade sat out of Wednesday's game at Golden State while suffering from drop foot, a nerve condition he said left him without feeling in his lower leg and foot. But Wade gradually began to regain sensation in his foot late Wednesday, and he informed East coach Frank Vogel on Thursday that he would be available for the game.

Wade was voted a starter by fans and will join Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Paul George in the lineup. Wade said he will again speak with Vogel to determine how to structure his minutes Sunday.

"I'll play," Wade said during Friday's All-Star media session in downtown New Orleans. "We'll just talk about how much. We had a small conversation and we're going to have more as the weekend goes on."

While Wade will be in tow for the East, the West will be without one of its top guards as Kobe Bryant continues his recovery from knee surgery. Houston's James Harden is expected to replace Bryant in the starting lineup.

Wade said his foot started to feel better once he arrived in New Orleans early Thursday morning. He also met with team medical officials in New Orleans to make sure he wouldn't be in danger of further damaging the foot by playing in the game.

The foot issue was the latest of a line of conditions that have knocked Wade out of action this season. He has missed 15 games, including the Heat's last two entering the All-Star break. Wade sat out of Tuesday's win in Phoenix with a migraine, and he's also been limited this season by knee soreness. A 10-time All-Star, Wade is averaging 18.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 36 games.

Wade had contemplated sitting out Sunday but reconsidered as his foot improved.

"I told [Vogel] that I was going to get out there and have a little fun," said Wade, who is likely to play the first five or so minutes of each half. "Then I'm going to sit down."

Definitely, but he never was a good defender. Wade was/is a better defender, wouldn't you agree?

Oh definitely. He's not the defender Wade was, but in terms of their peaks, I would say it's pretty close and the defensive gap wouldn't really be a big difference IMO.

And on Wade, cool. I thought he would play it safe and sit out. DeRozan starts for him and Lowry gets called up as a replacement. :D

LA_Showtime
02-14-2014, 07:48 PM
There should be a rule that if you miss so many games, you can be voted into the all-star game/considered an all-star, but you must sit out the game. No doubt Wade deserves to be on the all-star team, but come on man, he's sitting out regular season games to stay healthy, and now he's going to play?

Kobe is injured and cannot step on the court for at least another couple of weeks. Wade has been on a maintenance program and the Heat are shutting him down at the slightest sign of injury, to keep him fresh for the playoffs. He still played 36 games out of the 51 that Miami has played so far, and is on pace to play 60+ this season.

There is no reason to risk him in unnecessary games. We NEED him for the Playoffs. Also, he was a starter and got voted into the game. He was one of the more popular ones, who got voted in.
