Umm, false. Tie between the baddest white boys: Larry Bird, and Jerry West.

Honestly, Joe Johnson is the most clutch player I've EVER seen. He is borderline automatic.

Too bad clutch doesn't work in blowouts.

Kobe is like a 20% career clutch shooter. Who is worse?

LOL @ the people bashing me for the Joe Johnson selection. He's freaking 16-27 over the past 3 years on shots to tie/take the lead with less than 1 minute left in a game and 6-7 on gamewinners in the past 2 years including 5-5 on buzzer beaters. Shooting 60% since 2011 in the Final 24 seconds of games that are 1 possession games. That track record is ridiculous. And it's ALL in ISO

he's clutch for sure but why him and his teams are so irrelevant so it doesn't matter

Pretty much, never does it when it matters.

You're 100% on shots you DON'T take. Clutch is a mentality, a feel for a game. Not an efficiency number in a stat column. When will you dorks understand this? This isn't baseball.

Kobe is overzealous with hero shots, he's too un-afraid for his own good to make the right play to win sometimes because he wants to be the hero. But to claim this guy isn't clutch is absurd.

Your boy would've had another silver medal in the Olympics on his resume if it wasn't for Kobe's "lack of clutch" ability.

They forget the time he carried the crap Hawks all fourth quarter to beat the Champ Celts in the playoffs.

Also, Rudy Gay is pretty automatic in late game situations.

But as people have said, clutch doesn't help much in blowouts.

How are the numbers when looking at playoffs only, when the pressure is high and clutch really means clutch.

Joe Johnson is a great example of why clutchness is overrated. Yeah it's a valuable skill but it sure ain't the end all be all. JJ may be the clutches active player but I'd still take a good 10 players over him in the league right now.
