I know I'm stating the obvious, but god damn. My team is one of the chief beneficiaries , and it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Literally on any given night, you have a team in at least half of the games being played that's trying to lose.

No, Lakers were just tanking. It was clear as day.

Those consecutive turnovers after they were up 13 pretty much proved that, as did the entire second quarter against the Jazz after they were up 15. Thunder just did what the Lakers used to do, coast until the end and turn it on in the 4th (Durant scored 43 but it was an "off" game for him with the 14-33 shooting and 6 turnovers). Great effort though so it's a moral victory in a sense.

Depends on what you mean by tanking, it's obvious that people have two different definitions of it, teams could actually tank multiple ways.

1) Team composition. Putting together a team purposly bad is tanking from a management standpoint.

The people who doesn't get this concept are writing stuff like "Lakers don't have to tank, they already suck" :facepalm

2) In game tanking. Decisions made on purpose by the coach in order to give the opposition an advantage.

D'Antoni does this when need be, but given the roster composition this doesn't happen too often. An example would be when he had Ryan Kelly guard Melo in the 4th of a tight game.
