Current Durant reminds me a lot of...

Peak Tracy McGrady. Durant is obviously the more efficient scorer and player, but I watch Durant and see a lot of T-Mac back from around '02 and '03. The length, dominant scoring ability, outside shooting, getting to the line, handling the ball well for a big man, freakish consistency. Tracy had a similar 30+ point scoring stretch back in 2002-03 and watching Durant now reminds me a lot of T-Mac from that time period. Even if you're not a fan of Durant, you have to appreciate his dominance and talent. Very few players have ever matched it.

31/8/6 on 51/42/88 is just ridiculous. From a numbers persepctive, he's closer to Bird than McGrady. Bird's best statistical season was 30/9/6 on 53/41/92. But regardless, we should all appreciate Durant's play and hope it lasts a long time because a player like him is rare. :applause:

Well yeah, his game was smoother. But Tracy also didn't have that killer instinct Durant has. Even Iverson had that killer instinct. But that's pretty much the main thing that separates Durant and McGrady.

And Tony Delk also had a 50 point game. Freak things happen. But in the end, that's pretty much what T-Mac will be remembered for while Durant will likely have MVPs and titles.

Don't believe in killer instinct. It's a silly term that has no real meaning and is thrust onto players based on almost nothing. Is it winning? Is it showing emotion on the court? What is it?

What I believe in are injuries and that was T-Mac's only real problem.

Yeah, prime TMac was amazing. In the end though, fairly or not, he'll be one of those "cult classics" hardcore fans reminisce about, whereas Durant is on a trajectory to become one of those household names that is synonymous with the league in a certain era.
