Hopefully that money gets used in a positive way. Although with the government being as corrupt as it is, it would not surprise me to see that money back into circulation with the drug trade somehow.

22 billion dollars

That is 1/100 of 22 billion dollars.

That photo is from 2007 and represents 207 million dollars and 18 million pesos.

It was from a raid of a Chinese-Mexican businessman who sold meth precursor chemicals to the Mexican cartels.

Here's his Wikipedia page.

Also since nobody knows this guy's name, I think this also answers the question of how famous Walter White would be.

The fortune, reportedly found by the police on March 15, 2007 at his residence at Lomas de Chapultepec in Mexico City included the following:
207 million U.S. dollars
18 million Mexican pesos
200,000 euros
113,000 Hong Kong dollars
11 centenarios (Mexican gold bullion coins made of 1.20565 oz t (37.5 g) of pure gold[16])
A great amount of jewels, of unknown value
Confiscated along with the money were also:
Two Mexican-style dwellings of approximately 20 million pesos
A war chest of automatic guns
1 lab in construction of unknown value
7 vehicles

U.S. prosecutors reported that the seized cash had not been retained by Mexican officials as evidence, but instead had been counted and deposited into bank accounts. Many seized contents of Mr. Ye Gon's home, located in Mexico City's suburb of Lomas de Chapultepec, were subsequently auctioned off by Mexican officials.

[QUOTE]According to the Mexican authorities, Ye Gon's money is the product of drug-trafficking activities. However Ye Gon asserts that he was forced by Javier Lozano Alarc

I also wanted to say that the stash in the picture can't possibly be 18 billion Dollars.

Anything to get attention I guess. At least they could lie on the website and say 1 billions, but, 18 billion? GTFO

I really do understand why these drug lords are willing to murder people to keep that business alive. Look at that money. That is just absurd.

Just to think if you could break into this house for 5 minutes with one duffle bag you could steal enough money to change your life.

Walter white would be small time compared to this guy.

Actually Walt was planning on using up all the methylamine from the train heist. That would have netted them over 300 million dollars. Walt was starting to distribute his meth on a global scale and would have been a multi-billionaire.

Yep, this (the shitty life one).

Just become a top level Wall Street investment banker, make this drug lord look like a pitiful beggar :confusedshrug:

Bernie Madoff (had he not ever been arrested) would be laughing at that pile of money. It would barely be enough for him to wipe his ass with. And there are a LOT of Bernie Madoff's in the world.

Shit, look at someone like Paul Allen. Paul Allen shits all over the cartel leaders. Even Mark Cuban shits on the cartel leaders and he gets shitted on by Paul Allen. Worth well over $10 billion dollars. He's so rich, that being an owner of the Trailblazers and Seahawks is what he does on the side. This guy cartel guy probably lived ready to take a bullet his entire life, tons of stress, can't trust anyone, governments after him...

Paul Allen just won himself a ****ing Superbowl by having enough money to put the right people in charge, he's so goddamn wealthy. To reference Chris Rock, these drug dealers are rich... but they ain't wealthy. They're small time.

It's the Allen's, Koch Bros', Bushes, Saudi Princes, Kennedys, etc of the world who are the real players.

How does one become one?

Wish I knew, but I'd guess something like:

Be born into a wealthy, well-connected family, go to a top university, get internships in top-level finance firms on wall street through your family connections, get a Master's degree at a top university, then begin working as an investment banker. It also helps if your father is an investment banker already :lol

Just saying it's dumb that so many people in this topic are salivating and jerking it to that pile of money. Yeah, even just grabbing whatever I could carry in my hands would change my life right now... but that shit is chump change in the grand scheme of things.

oarabbus

I didn't say it was, $22 billion is World Power shit.

I work for a bank and I can tell you that investment bankers are lucky to make seven figures post market crash in 2008. I know several investment bankers and they make $250k to $600k. The really good ones will hit seven figures, but those are the very few. The real money goes to portfolio managers and hedge fund managers. Even traders make more than investment bankers, and they put in less time than investment bankers. Sadly, the wall-street era has completely diminished after 2008. The real money is in hedge funds and private equity firms right now.

Good to know man. I was using top-level investment banker as a catch-all term, but the point still stands that the hedge funds make this bust look small time.
