View Full Version : LeBron James still holds the record for youngest to 5k, 10k, 15k points

Keno
02-16-2014, 02:59 AM
LeBron got 15k at 25 years - 77 days of age.

Durant is currently 25 years - 140 days of age and only has 13k closing on 14k.

Now for 20k, LeBron got it on 28 years - 17 days of age.

Durant will finish this season with roughly 14,800 points. He will turn 26 to start next season, he will only have 2 seasons to get 5,200 points. 5,200 / 164 (that's if he plays every single game) = 31.7ppg.

With Westbrook coming back, I don't see it happening. Also, with the new NBA rules that players can't come straight from high school, I think LeBron will hold this record forever. Cool feat.

Has it come to the point where you've given up hope on the MVP and now cling into this nonsense?

I wonder how many more points Kareem and Wilt would have scored had they been able to jump from high school right to the pros, instead of waiting for four years?

The "youngest to x" shit had very little meaning to begin with. Now that highschool players can no longer enter straight away, it lost all meaning. :confusedshrug:

a lot of people on ish have been underrating lebron's scoring. for some one who is third in points per game all-time and holds the youngest to these milestones. you would think differently, right?

Chamberlain only played college ball for three years, but couldn't play in the NBA until his class graduated, so he joined the Globetrotters for a season.

i have never seen a player like lebron not get credit just because his body was better than every one else, or because he was hyped up coming out of high school. what does that have to do with anything?

You literally used that same logic against Kobe and T-Mac because they became deadly scorers after a couple years but when used against you does it become silly?

Nothing, it just explains why his numbers are better than the other two, he got a headstart, therefore youngest to x number of points its irrelevant, I would be more concerned about where a player finishes in terms of points.

Doesn't make much sense to include MJ. Both Lebron and Kobe came into the league at the same age, Jordan was about 3 years older, hence the disparity in games played. Also, the whole jumping ship to create a super team thing... don't see that anywhere on the chart. :confusedshrug:

That's kinda idiotic, as both Kobe and Lebron joined the NBA way earlier than Jordan. A better way to take those two accomplishments into comparison wouldbe this:

MVPs per game: Jordan 0,0047; Lebron 0,0049; Kobe 0,0008
Titles per game: Jordan 0,0056; Lebron 0,0025; Kobe 0,0040

That way you don't disregard Lebron being young and still in his career. Of course he can't compete with Jordan in total titles, who won late into his career so that gets evened out.

Bolded being the key word. Did Bean benefit from the all star teams he played for? Obviously. But it's not like he had control over who drafted/traded him. His career would probably look vastly different if he had stayed in Charlotte. But that's not what happened. You can get on his case about the additions in '04 and '12, but even then that was more of a management thing.

Bron made a concious decision and effort to abandon his team and form a new super team with 2 other prime franchise stars. These are facts.

Sarcasm bruh. Shaq left Orlando which at the time was a title contender and very talented for the LA money and so he could go to Hollywood to make as many terrible films as his heart desired.

It's not that you were "off by a small margin." It's the fact that you kept stupidly defending yourself when multiple people pointed out that you were wrong. Junk team = not title contenders.

In between the magic and Shaq eras, they weren't "The Lakers" anymore. Shaq brought them back to being the NBAs marquee franchise.
