Without a rookie Magic Johnson, Kareem's legacy would look vastly different. He's the most overrated player in the NBA history and it's not even close.

Look up his stats and achievements.

Also, go on YouTube and look at his highlights. Easily a Top 10 player of all time.

Every player's legacy looks vastly different if you take away members of their teams. That makes no sense. You could say that about every player.

Here's the number (numbers don't lie):

MJ: 6 FMVPs out of 6 rings

Lebron: 2 FMVPs out of 2 rings

Kareem: 2 FMVPs out of 6 rings (lmao:lol )

Kareem has ONLY 2 FMVP out of his 6 rings, he underachieved in his career.

Carried Oscar Robertson to an NBA championship, had a title, a finals MVP & 5 MVPs without Magic, won a regular season and a Finals MVP(at 38 years old!) playing with Magic. 19x all-star, 15x all-NBA team, 11x all-NBA defensive team selections, 4x leader in blocks, all-time leading scorer. Dropped 22 and 7 with 2.5 bpg against arguably the greatest Celtics squad ever in 1987, at 40 years old. Overrated my ass, he barely gets mentioned.

I would argue that if you took away Magic from Kareem you would still have a much better chance of winning than if you took away Shaq or Pau from Kobe.

If Hakeem's a top-10 player, than Elgin Baylor's the GOAT

If Hakeem's a top-10 player, so is Kevin Garnett, Isiah Thomas, Karl Malone

If not making it past the first round more than half your career makes you a top-10 player, than Chris Paul's a GOAT PG candidate

If highlights and fancy skills equate to a top-10 career, than Tracy McGrady > Earvin Johnson

I love the logic this website uses :applause:

At the end of the day, we don't count rings (Horry has 7 so...), we count FMVPs.

FMVP >>>> rings

MJ has 6

Shaq has 3

Magic has 3

Lebron has 2

Hakeem has 2

Kareem, who should have more, has only 2. For all the greatest of all time talk, he really underachieve in the FMVP department. Skyhook one-trick-pony.

Because he should have won every Finals MVP playing with young/prime Magic while he was way out of his prime? Are you serious? Dropping 22 and 7 against 1987 Celtics at 40 years old is nothing because he didn't win a Finals MVP at that age?

1-MJ
2-Kareem
3-Shaq (if only for his insanely dominant peak)
4-Bird
5-Magic
6-Russell
7-Lebron
8-Duncan
9-Hakeem
10-Wilt

We're not that far off on most of these. I fully expect Lebron to break into the top 3 by the time he's done. Durant will be a top ten player as well in my opinion.

When comparing Duncan and Garnett, people seriously overlook how much Duncan had to put into his team.

I mean, Tim played more postseason minutes from '03-'05 (2295) than Garnett did his entire Minnesota career (2003).

You can list KG's versatile skillet (which is more versatile than Duncan's), but at the end of the day Duncan impacts the game more than Garnett, and he's a much more fitting leader for a franchise :confusedshrug:

Nope. Old Wilt played against prime Kareem and held his own beating Kareem's team in the playoffs and winning FMVP in 1972. And Kareem won his last MVP in 1980, the rookie season for Magic and Larry. Larry would later on beat MJ in the playoffs three years in a row.
