The Brooklyn Nets have interest in trading for Jarrett Jack.
Jack signed a multi-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the offseason.
A source says the Nets could send Jason Terry to the Cavaliers for Jack.

JJ has been pretty dreadful this season this season though, right?

And his contract is way better than Jack's.
It's A VC3!!!

What happened to Jack? He was putting up career numbers with the Warriors and hitting big shots every game.
It might be that the Cavs are not a playoff team and he just stopped caring. If we get a motivated Jack than I'm all for it. If we get another Terry, please keep him.

This. I don't think he fits the Cavaliers really well. He was excellent with Golden State last year, idk what's up with him this year.. maybe a change of scenery will revitalize him? Both JJ/Terrys contracts are pretty bad... However, I think the Nets consider/do this trade because Livingston will leave in the off season as he is going to command more than the vets min. This will fill the back up PG role for Brooklyn while also giving up Terry's dead corpse lol.

Real talk Jack can handle the rock much better than Terry I think that's why the Nets want him. Can't think of another reason why

Terry has been so bad. Both have been bad. But at least jack has potential to improve in a different system
Cavs are ****ing it up, what should just be a salary dump for them (2 yrs for 1) has them wanting another team to take Terry's contract. For what? Why would someone take Terry for no reason? Nets are also said to want a draft pick, which is absurd.

Jack has been awful so far this year and he's completely redundant on this roster with Waiters and Irving. Delly has been a much better backup point, imo.
I'd trade him for just about anything at this stage. It would allow more minutes for Dion, Delly and CJ, and would get what looks like a bad contract off the books.
In other words, have a ball Brooklyn. I'm sure he'd probably be productive again on the right roster. This ain't it.

I know Jack's sucked and it'd cut down on the years they're invested in the contract, but they just fired Grant obviously. Wasn't Grant under Gilbert mandate to "add vets" like Jack?

I don't think it really matters whose fault it is. I liked the signing when it initially happened. It is now obvious to me that Jack is redundant on this roster.
Time to cut our losses. I'm positive Jack could still help a lot of teams around the league. He just doesn't fit here. Losing Jack would also be a clear sign to DWait that the franchise is still fully invested in him. I think that would be good for him right now and end a lot of the speculation.

I will take it in a heart beat and this is why......
Jack has not done so well for us. He was arguably the best bench guard in the league last year and is no where near it this year. Maybe he just needs to be around star players, I don't know.
Jason Terry, washed up or not brings confidence, experience and best yet, leadership, something our Cavs team greatly needs.
I hope this trade goes through.

Actually its a good deal. I mean Terry is 37 years old and cannot run, Id rather the team takes in younger players than being a full-oldmen squad. If I were the GM of the team Id do anything to make the team younger while maintaining at least the same level of competitiveness. Jack is 30, not that young but still in his best years.

Basically the trade is to dump Jack's longer 4 year $24 million contract (4th year team option) for Terry's 2 year $11 million contract.
Also I suppose it frees up a ball handler and give us a spot up shooter at the end of his career struggling right now.

So they should be like the knicks and offer two future first round picks for someone to take jack?:lol

I'd do it just because JJ's an expirer next year. But, I would be concerned about his attitude. Hasn't he had issues in Minnesota? That's the last thing we need with all these young guys.
Maybe a three-team deal with Jack going to Minny, Barea going somewhere else and the Cavs getting a veteran shooter?

Depends on the filler. Do the Kings have the expirers to absorb Jack without us having to take on multi-year deals? If so, deal. If I'm the Cavs, I then use those expirers to go out and find a shooter before the deadline.

Aaron Gray probably. Wait I didn't realise Jacks contract was so big

Like I said, I have no doubt Jack would still be a very good player in the right situation. He was arguably the best third guard in the entire league last year and was huge for GSW in the playoffs.
He just doesn't fit here. His contract is not out of whack with what he could bring to the right team.

Yes, like how to shoot a 18 foot pull up mid-range jumper and only that shot the whole game.

He didn't do that in GSW though, or if he did he actually made the shot. Maybe it's all mental being on the Cavaliers or something? I want Waiters....

The thing that has driven me completely insane about Jack this year isn't just that he shoots a ton of 18-footers... It's that he'll catch the ball on the wing and have a wide open look, but then almost always inexplicably decides to dribble two steps to the left or right, directly into a defender, and shoots an off-balance contested 18-footer instead.
He makes them sometimes, too, but I want to murder him each time regardless of the outcome.

Clear sign of commitment to Dion is what this trade is about
the interim GM told Dion he wasn't going to be traded, and nor should the cavs trade a young SG with his type of potential unless it's for something they can't say no too.
Windy recently did a podcast and was saying that other GM's around the league undervalue waiters and wouldn't give up much to get him. Trading Dion would be such a mistake for this franchise...

Apparently the Cavaliers have some interest in Pierre Jackson from the D-League. A 5'10" PG averaging 29/6 this season. Scored a D-League record 58 points in a game.
Also they were in talks with the Lakers for Chris Kaman, those talks stalled.
And they've shown interest in the Kings Jason Thompson and Marcus Thornton (I don't know what the hell they're doing sniffing around these two players).

I heard that Sac is just pitching those guys for Jarrett Jack.
Heard the Nets were interested in trading for Jordan Hill with that injured player exception they have on deck. Makes more sense to me.

We do need bench scoring outside of Mirza and I always liked Jack for his defense, but I can see his offensive game getting really annoying. He tends to try to play hero ball too much.

I've seen that too and if it happens I better not see him start just so Kyrie can play SG. Though it's not possible since he wouldn't know much. I just want to see Dion starting again.

I wouldn't mind Jarrett Jack to Memphis for either Tony Allen or Courtney Lee. Both Allen and Lee give Cavaliers a decent wing defender and Jack gives Memphis a scoring guard off the bench to back-up Conley?

He's also a bit of a chucker and a locker room cancer. Terry is a proven winner, willing to defer to Kyrie/Waiters and knows his place on the team.

I probably wouldn't say locker room cancer but certainly on the court he's served little to no purpose other than chucking contested 2's. I agree with that, I'd love JET over Jack even if he's not what he used to be. He can still stretch the floor and it will open up more minutes for Dellevedova who is a really impressive rookie.
I was just speaking on the notion that this is simply a move to get a veteran backcourt player when in actuality we'll be trading one and getting one back, so we'll end up with the same amount of veterans as we started... except one has a few more years and championship experience. :D
Jet is garbage. If the Cav fans want him as anything but a salary dump you're nuts.
