What a great show. Always liked the guy and he seems nervous on his first night but I believe they are going to let him do his thing unlike Conan.

First monlogue was great with the impressions.

Best variety show on television.

Not the same without Jay Leno. I miss that old son of a b*tch

The history of Hip Hop dance was great with Will Smith was good.

Now U2 is playing on the roof of 30 Rock. First time in history and probably first time that U2 is having a concert on a roof of a building.

I didn't think it was very good. The first 7 minutes were introducing everybody and talking about his upbringing. The Hip Hop dance thing was ok, but it was far from as good as previous histories of dance that he has done before on Late Night. Unfunny cameo after unfunny cameo of people giving him $100 (Colbert was the only part that I even smiled at during that part). I didn't care about anything Will Smith had to say, and I don't like U2. The High School Yearbook style awards skit was ok, but not great.

I do expect to like the show though. I just thought this particular episode was less funny than the average show he put on Late Night.

No, it is in New York for the first time in like 40 years. Leno was in Burbank, CA.

the set doesnt look good as it should. i think nbc gave him a shitty budget to work with because they are assuming the bar will be lowered.

His bits are great and he's funny but the problem is he, like Conan, is a dreadful interviewer.

I agree. He's much more of a performer. Carson was kind of the opposite.

I wish it were in LA just for the sake of being able to attend more easily.

I think Conan is the best of the late night interviewers of the last 20 years. Interviews by Leno and Letterman are boring as shit. Conan knows how to make the interviews entertaining still. That said, the first 30 minutes of every late night show is the best part.
