With Love, it's unique cause Love can get his off the boards and be a stretch PF. If Kobe wanted to prolong his chance at getting rings as well as entice guys to come to LA, he would be well served to take a step back. But still be an alpha dog and the best player on the team. He wouldn't need to. With D'Antoni's system, Melo and Love would get all of the shots they want while Kobe would get his depending on next year's team. I'm not saying it's a winning formula because it's not but that would be the reality.

Last year's Lakers struggled with Dwight because you had four offensive players and a guy like Metta who had the greenlight to shoot threes. Not only did you have Kobe taking a lot of shots but you also had Nash, Gasol and Howard battling for touches. Assuming that Gasol isn't there, you really only have Love or Melo with Kobe that are aggressively seeking touches. Nick Young comes off the bench so he's not a concern.
