Planning to move in about 12-18 months.

What jobs are hot right now? What set of skills?

What do the people need?

Thanks.

Thats a pretty wide range of people. I doubt an Australian could talk in depth about the job opportunities in Malaysia.

I'm Australian I would have no clue about the other countries you listed.
I don't really think there's any hot jobs is there? Avoid the manufacturing industry and mining as alot of jobs are going overseas and mines being shut down. Other than that I haven't heard of any particular job being more in demand. Maybe nursing or teaching? I dunno. Kangaroo riders and crocodile wrestlers are always needed too

not from any of those places but i am thinking about moving to singapore. i've been there a few times and am going back next month. think of it as the perfect bridge between east and west. everyone speaks english, and it's the safest country in asia. business is booming over there (especially if you are in oil and gas, finance, or shipping), the country is run very well. it's like NYC in that very few people you are going to meet are actually from singapore. alot of them are gonna be expats from taiwan, australia, usa, europe, etc. however, unlike nyc, the country is super clean and friendly. the downside to that is that they are obsessive about their cleanliness. as long as you toe the line everything is good, but don't ever become disruptive. don't litter, be rude, or even think about fighting...

it's near the equator so it is hot year round. also, it is pretty damn expensive to live there. an american beer can cost about $18. it's not as bad as you think though since it's is so cheap to fly to vietnam, thailand, or any other country in the region. there you can party cheap and rowdy.

edit: oh yeah, income tax is super cheap over there..it's a progressive tax between 0-20% that's why so many millionaires and billionaires live there. girls are beautiful too, and not FOBby like the neighboring countries

pretty much every person i know who's been to Indonesia comes back with intestinal parasites if that helps. Even a friend of mine who's Indonesian and stayed with his family over there eating proper home cooked food came back with them.

Dude, it's like that any country you go, the different food, way it's prepared, grown/made all impacts you. You have to adjust to the culture.
I've been Phillipines, Malayasia & USA and have been sick for a period at each one.
That's why you eat whatever you want and soldier on.

No jobs in Australia apparently unless you're in accouting or O&G (which I'm in here).

What's your education/work experience and what can you offer?

Apart from the weather Australia would be quite a dull place to live.
