8. Anthony Bennett actually has a chance to be good one day.

The best thing the cavs could've done was draft Oladipo first, then trade that chemistry killer Dion Waiters for a 1st round pick.

10. Oladipo is just showing flashes of his potential. I posted a list of players who had 30/14/9 games and he was in very good company. Cavs fans will be regretting this so hard soon. So glad their GM is dumb,

Not like there was a clear no 1.

Oladipo is no franchise player.

No one said that, so why even bring it up? The question is whether the Cavs made a mistake picking Bennett; to which the answer is: no, they did not.

He has shown flashes of brilliance through the season.

Look at this performance lost in the MCW hype: 26/10/10 vs Philly.

Mike Brown doesn't give him consistent minutes. He has shown a lot of his potential in the past few weeks, and he's getting better every game. He has only played one game with 30 minutes or more, in which he had 20 pts and 11 rebounds against Boogie Cousins.

Bennett has a very rare skillset for this league. Again, he's just getting started. He's slowly erasing that bust label, which should be gone by the end of the season.

How is that so?
Even if Bennett isn't a totally bust he won't be much better than the Kwame/Darko level.

trust me oladipo needs a lot of work, but anyone denying his potential is crazy. he's a hardworker too and the crowd ****ing loves him. he had amway chanting his name last night. what i want to see him improve on is his jumpshot, finishing with contact, and ball handling. those are the 3 most important things. hell, if he just gets his jumper to where he can be a threat if they go under on the pnr he's a 18-20ppg scorer.

Question was actually if they made a mistake not getting oladipo. which should be rhetorical. did they make a mistake picking bennett, we'll see. did they make a mistake not picking up oladipo, from what we've seen. yes.

Bran back to the Cavs?:lol Good one! You dont have enough all stars to carry him!

But yeah, obviously Oladipo is and will be the better player over Bennett. I think if the Cavs hired a decent coach that worked with Bennett and gave him consistent minutes hed imporove a ton..
But in reality the Cavs have poor management and a retard of an owner.

Bennett is getting there. I could see him 14/8 in a few years, not that bad.

I'll never understand the Oladipo hype. He has had a decent rookie season in a situation where his skillset is actually needed.

On a Cavs team where yet another combo guard and would make the backcourt even more redundant? I doubt he'd be doing much better than Bennett right now, who has started to come on of late if you hadn't noticed.

But, yes... let's put a smallish combo guard who can't shoot in the same backcourt as Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters and Jarrett Jack. :facepalm

All he needs are consistent minutes to continue catching up to the speed of the game. In general, when he gets minutes, he produces.

In the last month, which is the first extended period so far in his career where he's actually getting consistent playing time, he's averaging 9 points and 6 rebounds in only 20 minutes a night. If he were playing the 32 minutes a night, which is what Oladipo is averaging on the season, he'd already be around 14/8 a night. People were so quick to completely give up on this kid.

Good luck with that.

Nothing against Oladipo. He's a fine player and looks like he'll have a nice career, but star potential? I haven't seen it.
