Watched the game, refs were really not bad at all. There was that Parsons clear path foul which should have just been a regular (not a clear path) besides that the calls were alright on both sides.

He's the only reason they even came back from their 18 point deficit and they should've won but Gerald Green went from red hot to ice cold in the 4th and kept chucking up terrible 3 point attempts being guarded. It was a good game. I'm not complaining about the refs or anything like some people in this thread. There was some stupid calls and lack of calls, but whatever. I'm used to it and expect it every game these days. The Rockets just hit shot after shot, that Beverly guy killed them at the end... dude wouldn't miss.

To be fair he doesn't exactly have a "big 3" to inflate his stats, or an unstoppable big man to throw lobs to. He'd have a lot more assists if his teammates would knock down their wide open shots that he works his ass off pulling out every fancy move in the book to get them. Channing Frye was like 2-10 shooting on the night with Dragic feeding him beautiful opportunities.
But don't take this troll saying he's "the best PG in the league" serious anyways. Us real Suns fans aren't that delusional. He's definitely up there though, there's no denying that.

I'd say his passing skill is as good as anyone in the league, it's just that:
1) his teammates aren't really consistent enough to take advantage of it, especially his big men... Plumlee is terrible on offense with the ball in his hands, he's more of a "clean up the misses" with tips and put back dunks kind of guy. And all Frye does is jack up 3s, which are usually wide open because of Dragic's great ability to draw the defenders away and pass it back out to the perimeter, but not consistent enough to build Dragic's assist numbers
2) His big men rarely ever give him assists because of their playstyles. The Morris twins aren't "catch and shoot" kind of guys. Either is Gerald Green. They like to post up, drive, or iso, so Dragic rarely gets assists off them. Imagine if Dragic had Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan to throw lobs to left and right and get easy assists, like CP3 does. It isn't that easy for Dragic. People seem to forget that assists rely as much on your teammates as it does you...

Not arguing with you about CP3 being the best in the league right now(best since Magic is a stretch IMO, but best in the league right now is true) but Dragic did embarrass Curry too going 34/10/2/2 on just 10 out of 13 shooting(with worse players to pass/lob it to). TBH any PG can embarrass Curry though because the guy plays no defense. Curry's likely one of the worst defensive PGs I've ever seen, embarrassing him is funny but it's not a legit accomplishment.
And obviously Dragic's embarrassment wasn't quite to the level that CP3's embarrassment was, but honestly who even expected Dragic to be ANYWHERE near as close to CP3 this year as he is? Nobody expected it or hyped him to be this good. Dude was a late 2nd round draft pick that nobody even considered would likely still be in the NBA this long, yet he's turning heads and well on his way to being a perennial All-Star type of player. And CP3's already well into his prime while Dragic is just barely starting to enter it. Dragic has a bright, bright future. Give him some credit for once and stop hating on him just because of the dumbass troll on here saying stupid shit about him that not even Dragic himself would say. Ignore the asinine things that comes out of that guy's mouth and just enjoy Dragic for who he is, not what 1 idiot on a forum says about him.

I don't like Dragic because on fast breaks he would rather score instead of make an easy pass. He is an under sized shooting guard. So you should really be comparing him to the Kobe Bryant's of the world.
livingby3's
02-24-2014, 06:31 AM
He usually goes straight to the basket on fast breaks because Dragic just outruns everybody in the open court. He can draw contacts well and still finish at the rim. Imo he makes really good decisions on fast breaks, and that include passes.
True that he scores better than he passes though. But it's not a bad thing when you look at that roster as a whole. With Bledsoe, who is another PG, out, his second options are G-air-green and Channing Frye. Frankly I would rather Dragic tries to score at the rim first than facilitate the offense, which he also can be relatively good when given the right options. I can see him changing his game more with a clear cut no.1 option on the team

Last year stats comparison:
CP3: in 70 games 17/10/2 on 48 fg%

Put them up fully?
CP: 16.9 / 3.7 / 9.7 with 2.4 steals to 2.3 giveaways while shooting 48.1/32.8/88.5 in 33.4 minutes per game. Taking 12.2 shots per night as well.
SC: 22.9 / 4.0 / 6.9 with 1.6 steals to 3.1 giveaways while shooting 45.1/45.3/90.0 in 38.2 minutes on 17.8 shots per night.
So he played just under five more minutes and took 5.6 more shots to score 6 points more, dish out just under 3 less dimes, while turning it over just under one more time a night? Just over 1 more point per shot, and we aren't even considering the difference on defense between the two :facepalm
This year?
CP: 18.9 / 4.6 / 11.2 with 2.5 steals to 2.5 giveaways while shooting 45.9/35.9/86.2 on 14 shots per night in 34.7 minutes
SC: 24.3/4.3/8.9 with 1.6 steals to 3.8 giveaways while shooting 46.4/42.1/86.8 on 17.4 shots per night in 37.6 minutes.
Three more minutes, 3.4 more shots, to score a whopping 5.4 more points, turn it over 1.3 more times, dish out 2.3 less dimes and, again, the defense.
Not even close.
