You can try spotflux for a bit. I think it throttles your connection after a certain amount of use but you should be able to connect no problem the first few times. Or maybe I just got unlucky with mine:

For mobile, you can DL Ladder Trial. It gives you free 7 minute trials that you can continuously re-use. I use it everynow and then on my phone.
