View Full Version : Microsoft surface tablet or latest Gen iPad?
I have an ipad, 32GB.
Was at the mall the other day, came across a Microsoft stand. The sales guy sold me on the Microsoft tablets.
My price range is 499 considering selling the ipad3 I have.
I don't want to upgrade the iPad. I'm curious to know who has a Microsoft tablet here and willing to say they have had experience with apples iPad and enjoy it better?
I love the ability to multi-task on there. The usb feature. The desktop feature. Comes with Microsoft Office and that alone is a game winner for college students. The flash player.

the surface is a bit bulky and big
for those reasons, I got an iPad mini + Logitech Keyboard costing me 500
I love this little shit and I'll never go Surface until they make it a bit smaller

If you're looking for PC like interface on a tablet sized screen, the Surface is the way to go. The Surface Pro is the only one that comes with Microsoft Office pre-installed.
The iPad is just like a big ass iPhone. If you want to do more customization and desktop things like you would on an iMac or MacBook, it's not going to happen.
I have to sell these things at work so it's not like I'm just spitting garbage at you :D

if you need to do work in a pc environment then get a surface. if you just want to play games, surf the web and watch movies then get the ipad

The apps are weak. My school gave me the helix laptop that's turns into tablet. And it was basic to me. Definitely isn't as smooth as an iPad either
Dam. But the iPad is so one dimensional.

I own both, and have maybe used the Surface 10 times. I use my iPad at least once a day. The iPad feels better in your hands, has more apps, and if you already own a Mac is very easy to sync your files to. I just haven't enjoyed using the Surface aside from the keyboard cover to type some things on Word. Granted, that IS an advantage, but if I need to do work, I'd much rather use my laptop instead of the Surface.

The problem with Microsft RT is that there are no apps at all. So if you don't care much abiut that buy it.
