View Full Version : Who's the 3rd best player in the league?

Obviously Lebron and KD are the two best players in the NBA, but there seems to be a bit of a drop off after them.

Last season most people would've probably chosen CP3 or maybe Melo/Kobe :confusedshrug:

So has the title of 3rd best player shifted to someone else this season or not ?

Tough question. No one is as consistent as those guys and if they are... it's empty stats. (Kevin Love)

I'm gonna say.......

Russell Westbrook, followed by Dwight Howard and Paul George.

I think it's BS that Durant is clearly better than Melo. Melo is so amazing this year, his team is just awful. I do agree you gotta give the nod to Durant because his team is winning and in the end, that's what games are played for but it's a lot closer between those two than people make it out to be IMO.

Fourth best player to me is Blake Griffin. For the 5th best, I'd say it's a tossup between CP, PG and Love.

I love Melo, I've been defending him a lot the past few days on here. But he has absolutely no case for being ahead of KD.

This too. Griffin is better this year and it's not close.

Has Chris Paul even been the best player on his team this year? I don't think so.

He played 34 games before his injury. In those 34 games he averaged:

19.6 ppg
4.6 rpg
11.2 apg
2.4 spg
0.1 bpg
2.5 TOV
.464 FG%
.356 3PT%
.870 FT%
124 ORTG
102 DRTG
58 TS%
27 PER

Yes, he was without a doubt the best player on his team before his injury.

Thanks buck boy. Shut these losers up. If you think blake griffin impacts a basketball game more than cp3, please stop watching basketball, because you're lost.

Y'all go from criminally under rating Blake to overrating him in a matter of games. Please stop letting espn give you guys all of your opinions.

One of the few times that I'll agree with you.

CP3 is not even close to being a top 3 player this season.

1. KD
2. LeBron
3. Carmelo - 38/9/His second best player is JR and starting PG is Felton. Nuff said.
4. Blake Griffin - 28/8/4 on 61% TS without CP3 and a 12-6 record. 27/14 WITH CP3. Not much difference.
5. Kevin Love - Put him on a good team with a good bench and he'll lead that team to a top 5 record. Dude's averaging 27/13/4 on 60% TS.

CP3, Paul George, Westbrook or Stephen Curry. If you're on a losing team you have no place in the top 5 convo IMO.

Haren is borderline top 10. I can actually make an argument for 15 current players over Haren.

Chris Paul / Dwyane Wade when healthy. Beyond those two, probably a tie between K. Love, Melo, and Paul George. Can't decide really. But it's a three man race of overrated ability, and impact on the win column.
