..on another team only to find themselves in a much worse role on their new team? Either by demanding a trade or signing with a new team at the end of their contract.

Melo. Career loser thought he was better than what he actually is so he left Denver only to find himself being exposed year after year.

Gary Neal, Dejuan Blair, James Harden, Aaron Brooks, Danny Granger (LOL).

Harden really didn't choose to get traded, but he ended up getting a much better role.

The difference with Melo is that his role is largely the same. He would count if he moved and then became a second option. His problem is that he moved to a worse team.

jordan hill took less money to re-sign with the lakers, than what minny was offering him, because he thought nash and him would have a great pick and roll connection.

then after he re-signed:
. 1. lakers trade for dwight howard
2. lakers hire dantoni(former coach who put jhill in the doghouse)

im pretty sure he regrets the signing.

the opposite of what OP was asking, but it still seemed fitting

Yeah sort of but it still works in a way. Too bad for him.

VC & T-Mac leaving Toronto, though they had better years on other teams imagine them together in their primes? Think their careers would have been much better in terms of Playoff success.

AI traded from the Nuggets to Detroit, I'm not sure if he forced the trade but it put him in a much worse situation, ended up getting benched for Stuckey and his career was pretty much done then.
Melo traded from Denver to the Knicks, he made the WCF with Denver and I think if he stayed he would have been in a much better situation right now.
D-Will forcing his way out of Utah - one of the worst career moves IMO.

I don't think he asked for that trade. I'm not sure either but I don't see why he would have wanted to leave Denver? I think the Nuggets just wanted Billups over AI.

Ray Allen.

He was bitching because Boston wanted him as a 6th man or something like that. And wanted more money.

Goes to the Heat, comes off the bench for less money.

Way to make a point there ray. Lol

Stephon Marbury

He does not want to play second fiddle to Kevin Garnett so he went to a team that featured him and went nowhere and he fade into obscurity like Kenny Anderson.

True. Loved Game on G-Unit, but they were always their best with just 50, Banks, and Buck. 03-04, most underrated era of music ever :applause:

Why do people ignore the fact that Amare's knees basically exploded right after Melo got to NY? Or that team management let a promising young asset in Lin go for nothing; not because they determined he wasn't a good player but because they felt "betrayed."

I still say Lin, Shump/JR, Melo, healthy Amare, and Chandler would have been the 3rd best team in the East easy.
