[QUOTE=Wikipedia]"Van Gundy benched Spanoulis, after the coach claimed that he had played poorly, citing that rookie players are dangerous for coaches that are in contract years, and that Spanoulis was too turnover prone and lacking in outside shooting touch to be a good fit in Van Gundy's offensive system design. Said Van Gundy about the situation: "(Spanoulis) says, 'I was [Tracy] McGrady back home.' Great. McGrady is McGrady here," .. "I feel badly for him. He feels he was misled. Frankly, he's been his own worst enemy in many ways. Some of it is excuses. His turnovers have been high; his fouls have been high; his shooting percentage has been low. I would rather anybody start out with self-evaluation

The ONLY thing this guy did proficiently was get to the foul line
Can't pass, score, shoot, dribble, rebound, defend, or do anything else at an NBA level

Euroleague has been exposed.
Vespucci Spaghetti sucks. He's always been slow, fat and terrible at basketball his whole life. Seriously, Euroleague needs a checkup if he thinks V-Span is better than Rose and Westbrook. That dude is on some type of drug that no one in the galaxy knows about

He would have been one of the best players in Wilt's era

Seriously though, are we sure he's Greek? There's no factual evidence to confirm that he is. Who's to say he isn't Serbian?

The article written in the paper clearly noted the REAL reason why Van Gundy benched him. The rest of it was the BULLSHIT that Van Gundy claimed why he was benched.
You NBA only fan morons can't even read.

Honestly, I'm trying to be fair here. I saw him play in a EL game last year vs the team with Tomic on it. I forgot the name of the team and this is what I saw:
Vspan can consistently get in the lane. He is actually pretty quick with that first step. He was fast enough to frequently run one man fast breaks. He can actually shoot on the move better than just being a catch and shoot player. Yes, he could not Mcgrady in the NBA, but in FIBA ball he is good enough.
But even in that EL game I saw, I counted like 5 TOs in the first half by Vspan. The Eurobasket proved it wasn't a fluke, those TOs. When I weigh him, he just is not a very impressive player, overall, due to his inefficient play.
If he played in the NBA, he could he a good backup for an average team if the coach will take a chance on him
