he really can win another mvp. he just needs to play at the same level and grab a little more rebounds.

it also depends on team record, durant ain't winning a mvp if let's say miami is 65-17 and okc 60-22 and okc have a difficult schedule. same the other way.

If you get even a little specific with stats, no one has ever had a month like Durants january.

Nothing to see here, LeBron dickeaters getting fuel from ESPN

True. A bunch of players had several better ones.

FG%.

KD probably did this when he went on that tear, just lesser FG%.

Nothing against LeBron but this is another one of those arbitrary ESPN style "records". Seemingly every day a player (usually but not always LeBron) is "the first to do this and that since X", and then they write a drooling article about it.

Random stats like these are really pointless.

If you add enough requirements, you can find a way to make everyone's stats look special.

yeah it was his Feb stats

LeBron's Feb
31ppg: 107/186 (57.5 FG%) in 9 games (8-1)

Durant's Jan
37ppg: 190/344 (55.2 FG%) in 16 games (12-4)

Not really.

If you add in three pointers made, 3 point percentage, offensive rebounds (instead of using total rebounds) or free throws made or something like that it is indeed pretty random.

But these three stats are all very important and basic. Points, FG%, and rebounds.

To the people who are missing the point, the ESPN nerds just take LeBron's numbers and try to see if anyone else has ever done it. LeBron's FG% is 57 and hence the number. You can't have 56 or 55 or 60 or whatever, when LeBron is scoring at 57%. How is that difficult to understand. Just look at it and walk away. It's not like people a week from now are gonna remember this streak.
