You can discuss several but try to settle on only one, I'm curious what everyone thinks. I'm gonna say Steph Curry. 24 PPG 9 APG 4.5 RPG on .460/.417/.870 shooting.

3rd best player in the league? I know Lebron and CP3 are clearly top 2, but the 3rd spot is really wide open now. I can see players like Durant, Harden, Melo, Dwight and Love competing for the 3rd best player this season, the race will be decided at the end of the season.

Kevin Love purely numbers wise.
Chris Paul doesn't get the nod back until he can take this stacked Team to a Western Conference Final. No excuses this year Cp3.

The drop off from #1 and #2 is so big that it's pretty close. I'd still go with CP3. Although I think there are arguments for Love, George, Melo*, Curry, Aldridge, Davis, Griffin Westbrook and Curry.
*Funnily enough, I think Melo has a better case for top 5 player this season than any season before, despite the team record. The effort he's put in this year is insane, and it's reflected in his rebound numbers and improved defense.

It's between Chris Paul and Kevin Love.
I would still pick CP3, but with the supporting cast he has now, he really needs to start showing some results. Another early playoff exit is not going to cut it.

And he's healthy right now, so this is your answer.

LMAO! LeBron, Kobe, Wade, and others have carried much worse teams to the playoffs in more competitive conferences. The East is historically weak this year, at least the weakest it's been since 2007.
Replace Melo with LeBron or Durant, and that team is the second or third best in the East.
Melo has actually gotten slightly more efficient, but there is a formula for winning at a decent clip with a team like that. Durant figured it out when Westbrook went down. Pick and roll and spread the floor with shooters.
But, Melo can't play pick and roll and, more importantly, he's not looking to set up teammates with easy shots. He's an iso player who's gonna force up his own shot. And he doesn't lead by example on defense either.
Melo can do two things: score and rebound. And that's it. It's absurd to have him anywhere above the bottom rungs of the top ten.
