Durant right now isn't having a better regular season than LeBron in his 10th season ever has?

Durant right now is averaging 32/8/6 on almost 50/40/90. Leading his team to the best record in the West despite being without Westbrook over half of the season so far. Playing great defense as well.

So yall really gonna pretend that 25 year old Durant isn't playing better than any version of LeBron has for a whole season?

It's actually 31 - 7 - 5

LeBron has had 4 better overall seasons in 2009, 2010, 2006 and 2013. And gtfo with playing "great" defense. He is good defensively, but not great.

Bron's regular season last year was as good if not better, his 09 and 10 regular seasons were better too.

Keno

not even close. lebron has had multiple seasons better than this. but his 09-10 season, 30 points per game-7 rebounds per game-9 assists per game-2 steals per game-1 block per game is better than anything durant has done in his career.

32/8/6/2/1 on 51/40/88?

I really wish people would stop using the phrase "Durant stans"

There are no Durant stans...only Kobe, Rose, and to a lesser extent Knicks stans (Carmelo). But generally Lebron haters.

If this was Rose, the OP would be dickriding for Rose saying this season Rose is better than Lebron has ever been...

At the beginning of this season it was...

Rose>Lebron
then
George>Lebron
then when Kobe gets back
Kobe>Lebron
then
Durant>Lebron
then
Melo>Lebron
then quickly back to
Durant>Lebron

30 points + 9 assists (minimum 18 points, maximum 27 points) accountable for 48-57 points for the team.

32 points + 6 assists (minimum 12 points, maximum 18 points) accountable for 44-50 points for the team.

Would be true, if it wasn't for the fact that LeBron has had 3-4 seasons better than the one that Durant is having now. Including the one that he had at age 21. Also, Durant is an above average defender to good defender at best. He has never been a great defender. Dude looks like a deer caught in the headlights of a car on a lot of plays.

LeBron had 31-7-7 at 21 years old in 2006

LeBron prayed for a team that Durant has right now. Durant has been coddled since he got in the league, and him losing with that ultra stacked team in the 2012 finals is straight up embarrassing.

Rebounding is a scrub stat that should not be taken in account for non big man players.

Durant high rebounding numbers only show he tries way too hard to have a nice statline.

Lebron is averaging 6 rebounds per game, but that does not mean that durant is a better rebounder than him. Actually lebron in the playoffs when he is playing hard, can easily grab 15+ boards (see game 4 vs indiana 2012, game 6 vs celtics 2012).

I highly doubt Durant could be a dominant rebounder.

For perimeter players the only stats that matters are points and assists.

30 and 5 is great, but king james has been doing it since his third year in the league.

The reason KD should be in the lead now is because he is by far more valuable to his team. Thus should be ahead for the MOST VALUABLE player award.

Lebron James: 53/55 games for Miami Heat (41-14)
24.95% of points
18.35% of rebounds*
26.52% of assists*
15.61% of steals
6.70% of blocks
22.78% of turnovers

Kevin Durant: 57/58 games for OKC Thunder (43-15)
29.58% of points*
16.83% of rebounds
25.38% of assists
17.61% of steals*
12.5% of blocks*
22.52% of turnovers*

Do you really believe the NBA will market Durant as the best player? The guy has no charisma at all. He is a passive-aggressive clown that isn't even the leader of his team.

bran does have better commercials. him playing with his sons on the samsung commercial was priceless. showing his house and family and lovely wife, all things durant doesn't have.

he needs an image, right now he's like a blank slate. a.i. had an image by the time he was in his third season, shaq had one since day one really, we all know about jordan, and even t-mac had more of an image than durant in his hey day.

even though i try not to be shallow this is a very interesting point and does play a factor. bran was marketed as a "villain" with the "what should i do?" commercials and now he has been "redeemed" as the man whom we all "love to hate."

durant should have latched on to the "good boy gone bad" image.

hopefully he gets it together soon.

Spot-on analysis. Durant is a closet-scumbag, fake-humble beta who has been licking the boots of his supposed rival and now his fans want to pretend otherwise. Russwest you are going to have to work a little harder than that if you want us to believe in this alternate reality of yours.

Is this a serious thread? Take 2008-2009 LeBron, put him on the Thunder, and they'd be a force.
