Lebron's was more in the flow with little effort. Melo's was more selfish and looked like he was trying harder. lebron gets the edge since he was actually passing.

Melo. Played fewer minutes, had worse teammates, Bobcats were fully rested (played Heat on 2nd night of a B2B), Bobcats had better DRTG at the time, no TOs, at a historic arena so more pressure (Heat scoring record :lol who held the old one Udonis Haslem :lol ), no HGH, etc. Not really close tbh

Melo passed it all game, he drew far more doubles that game (37 to Lebron's 14), but his teammates bricked shots like there was no tomorrow. Would you rather have Bosh or Jeremy Tyler? :oldlol:

People are underestimating the pressure of MSG. Spike Lee, Frazier, the celebs

Heat arena is empty until the Pittbull concert is over, then it empties again when Flo Rida starts. Playing in front of 30,000+ rabid Knicks fans or 7,000 Bieber stans waiting for the game to get over so the Selena Gomez concert can start? Hm, which is more impressive I wonder :facepalm

The defense on Melo was pretty good when he scored 62 and that was impressive, dont get me wrong, but the defense was even better against Lebron, once he got around 40 points they started to even completely not care about the game at all as they instead focused their full effort to stop Lebron and leaving the entire Heat team open.... i mean they didnt just send double-team's towards Lebron when he got the ball, they were doing that even when he simply walked up without the ball as soon as he got anywhere close to MIDCOURT.... Melo didnt encounter that...

Slight edge to Melo.

No assists but twice the rebounds. No turnovers. Scored 60+ in less minutes. On a god awful team w/ no other scoring options. Also scored 62 w/ 7+ minutes left in the game. Could've scored 70+

LeBron was incredible tonight and I might take his game over Melo's, but it's revisionist bullshit to say he was doubled before the 4th. Both the Miami and Charlotte announcers commented on this, and the game thread on here is littered with posts stating this.

It's almost certainly because LeBron is a passing threat so you can't double him as readily as you can a Melo, but to say that he was doubled the first three quarters is complete fiction.

catquickspider

I was jokingly asking who held the old record. Real Heat fans (not you) know how much Haslem has meant to our franchise so I put him. No need to be upset 2011 Heat fan.

another reason Melo's game was better, he was mainly guarded by MKG, an elite defender. The Cats hid Tolliver on Lebron because they knew Lebron couldn't hurt them if they single coveraged him with their worst defender, and he didn't. 80% of the wings in the league would score 60+ if they were guarded like the Cats guarded Lebron tonight.
