Can anyone suggest a good pair of headphones under $200? Will be using them mostly while traveling for music and movies.

Looked it up and they're gaming headphones? Don't want a mic sticking out bro.

Well, depends what kind of headphone you want.

Closed headphones to go out, that isolate noise and people don't hear you... but at the cost of more realistic and natural sound reproduction and soundstage.

Or Open headphones that are mostly for home, and leak sound, but sound better for the price and have the advantage on comfort and vocals?

Also, what kind of music do you mainly listen to?

There is a site called Head-Fi, it's a forum for headphone and audio equipment. There are lot's of opinions and people that can help. But you can just google the question you asked in the OP and add headfi next to it, you'll see some answers.

been fiddling around for a while now.
The most obvious choice would be the ath-m50, then you have choices like the sennheiser hd50. Both are around the price and great cans.
If you want earphones, go for the shure se215, thats just off the top of my head, feel free to classify what you want more specifically.(Genre/bass/preference etc)

I bought the mt50x from audio technica, they sound great and feel pretty comfortable but maybe its just me, I couldn't justify paying $180 for them. I've never had headphones that great but they leaked a lot of sound and at the end of the day, they didn't impress me enough to keep them.

Also I was super broke and my next paycheck isnt until friday so I def had ti return them :lol

Read up on Head-Fi. Sounds like you probably want some closed back which I'm not as familiar with, but a good place to start is seeing what AT, Senn, or Grados are in your budget.

Don't direct people to Head-Fi for headphone recommendations. There's mostly shills and idiots on that website.

I suggest only getting a headphone that has a detachable cable or to retrofit whichever headphone you get with a detachable cable.

You'll get better info at Head-Fi than here.

I'm gonna use them mostly while traveling, so closed would be ideal. I usually watch movies and listen to literally all genres. From classical to metal.

I did hear a lot of good things about the mt50's but don't they leak? That might be quite annoying to the person sitting next to me. I've been looking at these headphones. They have pretty good reviews on other sites and they look kinda cool as well. Anyone try them?

Get some sony 7506. They are the industry standard and are used in recording studios in NYC.
