Kobe's 81 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7P4SVFG7a8)
http://abload.de/img/kobe-bryant208esxo.jpg
Tim Legler, Stephen A. think it's ludicrous it's even this close. Think Bobcats D's overrated, and Bron didn't have to play in the 4th unlike Kobe. Relative to their history of shooting, LeBron's was more impressive. Relative to the history of the game, Kobe's was more special
LeBron's 61 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAj4LTBVTI4)
http://abload.de/img/9b4d2079557d4049a7cca6isyx.jpg
Skip liked LeBron's efficiency, 3pt shooting, mask. Says Kobe more selfish (in a good way)

I don't even think the majority of fans these days remember Kobe's 81 pt game considering the demographic for the casual NBA fan are getting younger and younger.
As impressive as it was, I can't even put LeBron's performance over Melo's 62 pt night.
But this is the LeBron era so I can understand why everything he does is magnified times 1000.
However I will say, LeBron keeps on adding to his already extensive resume so props to that.

Kobe's 81 is legendary, the highest scoring game ever by a guard in NBA history and the highest besides Wilt's mythical 100, Lebron's 61 isn't even the most anyone's scored this season.
Kobe's 81 was coming from behind in a close game which he turned into a blowout in the 4th. 54 points in the 2nd half.
And if you want to discredit Kobe's game because of free throws, check out his 65 point game with only 12 fts in a OT win, hitting 3 consecutive 3s in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter to force OT and that ridiculous turnaround corner 3 to ice the game in OT.
Lebron had a career game and an amazing one at that in terms of efficiency and 3pt shooting, but why must you compare it to the highest scoring game by anyone in the modern era?

Oh, this is supposed to be some defining statistic. Charlotte as a team is a good defensive team, but they lack any defenders who could check Lebron. Who was he mostly guarded by, a 2nd year player named MKG, who's 20 pounds lighter and an inch shorter than Lebron?
And Lebron against the same Raptors team shot 27 - 58(3 games, a combined 79 points) in 06.

Kobe's 81. And I hate saying "and it's not even close", but really, it isn't close.
Lebron's performance was incredible and will go down as one of the greatest performances ever, but this is 81 points we're talking about. In the modern era as well, a completely different beast than Wilt's 100.
Lebron is the more complete player overall, but the only player in NBA history I can think of who tops Kobe offensively when he's hot is Jordan.

Lol Comparing this to Kobe's 81 point game when Kobe has at least 4-5 more games on par with this. No Bashing of Lebron tho, 61 is good, that's like Kobe's 3rd highest scoring game tho. But I'm sure Lebron could score big if he wanted to.

As much as I hate on Kobe and sack ride LeBron, Kobe wins this battle easily. LeBron does have some pros in his defense though:
Pros:
Efficiency
Bobcat's DRTG

Still not enough to fill the gap of the 20 extra points Kobe hit. LeBron's real feat is that scoring isn't even his main game, yet he's still able to score 60.
