View Full Version : Does playing in a rubbish conference give LBJ a MVP advantage over KD?

It seems that the heat and pacers are playing against rubbish teams night in and night out.. Where the thunder have at least 8 other very good teams to battle against in the west... My question.. Does this give Lebron an unhealthy MVP advantage? We all know there is a major imbalance in the conferences now.. But is it enough to inflate someone's stats enough... Now I'm not saying Lebron hasn't played at a MVP level.. But I do believe his statlines would be Lower if he was in the west..
What do you think?

no it doesn't, it's taken into account i'm sure just like how lebron's record vs the west is taken into account

Yep, Bron struggles mightily against the super stacked West. What are his stats and record against the West again? :lol

But there is a difference in coming up against a strong west team once every 2 weeks compared to playing them 2 times a week.. There is a major difference when you have to grind against those teams night in and night out..

KD has an advantage since the Thunder are more familiar with the strong Western teams. Lebron plays them twice a year and still dominates.

18-7 against teams over 500, best record in the league

west doesn't even play defense anyway.

If anything, it gives Durant an advantage since Lebron and the Heat always play better against the West.

Your logic doesn't hold up.

You could say the West teams have the advantage against KD because they are more familiar with the Thunder. :facepalm

At the end of the day, LeBron plays in a garbage conference with a stacked team.

Good player, but even better circumstances.

Stupid thread. If anything KD has an advantage by playing the West teams more often. West teams may be better, but they play at a faster tempo, making it much easier to accumulate gaudy stats. Lebron's averages against Western teams are always much higher than against Eastern teams. Nice try though.

It's a pointless thread. You're talking about inflated stats when (last time I checked) Lebron has better stats against the West. Better win% too.

Just imagine if KD had to play in the rough and rugged Eastern Conference full time. He might average about 20 ppg on 42 percent shooting, and that is being generous.

Yeah, LeBron has to play an entire 4th quarter whilst up double digits against a sub-500 team. What a legend!

Hyperbole, but the East has long been the better conference defensively.

No but the constant bail-out touch fouls kd gets are definitely padding his scoring stats and giving him an advantage. Thats the same reason why I believe kobe is the better scorer, the guy never got half the favoritism kd gets right now and didnt have the length advantage but still managed to outscore him based purely on skill

Lebron>kobe>>>kd

Nah, league would compensate Servant with 7 more free throws per game in the East.

Can't be sure. They play mediocre competition to inflate their records and stats. Are we even sure Paul George can dribble properly? We need to be sure.

this

Let's not forget that Miami as a whole plays better against better teams.

if Lebron played in the West this year. He would average something like 29/8/7 on 67% TS and Miami would win 66-68 games.

Your basketball knowledge is weak.

Jordan would've ended it in 7 if they called that weak ass foul.

Ray Allen missing that three would have literally ended LeBron's legacy.

Completely different situations. Bron was throwing up bricks and airballs at the end of that game. He had that panicked look on his face too and was flailing his arms at the refs searching desperately for a scapegoat.

Your boy is a weak minded bitch.

How does a weak minded bitch drop games like game 6 vs Boston? Game 7 vs Spurs? Game 5 vs Indiana?

And Cleveland's record vs the West in 09 and 10 was ridiculous as well.

When is the last time a team won a game 7 of the finals on the road? :biggums: Sorry Jordan fans, but the refs not calling him for that blatant push off saved MJ's legacy.

you clearly didnt watch the game....KD's shooting performance had nothing to to do with how the defense played him...he was just missing shots he'd normally make...
