Lebron.

Shaq burned many bridges in the 2000 era.

i disagree. lebron has been known to flop, and this is documented by many nba fines and youtube videos.

you wont find shaq flopping. hence, shaqs toughness >>>>> lebrons

Lebron James is every bit as strong and tough as Shaq.

He's up there with Shaq and Malone as one of the strongest players in NBA history.

I probably take prime shaq over anyone not name MJ.. And then there is a decent list of other names.. Then after that maybe Lebron

KyrieTheFuture
03-05-2014, 07:23 AM
The answer is always prime shaq. His best competition would be Dwight Howard. Think about that. He'd be even better in the 10s than he was in late 90 early 2000

miller-time
03-05-2014, 07:24 AM
Shaq seems like he would be more work to keep happy. If it was like NBA 2k where things like that don't matter then Shaq. In reality LeBron is probably the safer option.

JohnMax

Lebron has hard time guarding David West. He is physically weaker.

Shaq. He would absolutely dominate in this weak C era.

Did Hibbert, Noah, Pekovic, Gasol, DeAndre, Drummond, etc. all retire?

Shaq was a beast till the '05 season. That's 6 seasons, including the '00 season. If by current LeBron, you mean '10- Lebron, then Shaq is the obvious answer. 6 years of Shaq, including his peak? No brainer.

No to the underlined. You also forgot rebounding and efficiency in Shaq's favour and defensive impact being at least equal or in Shaq's favour.

Not that tough of a choice to me, even though Lebron's having a terrific prime and one of the best ever.

I'd probably pick peak Shaq over just about anybody. And as far as peaks I'd go with (Shaq), MJ, Wilt, Kareem and Bird over someone like Bron.

Im a Heat fan, Lakers "hater" and id take prime Shaq over anyone, Jordan included. Shaq changed NBA rules, he was THAT dominant. While Lebron makes his teammates look a lot better than they really are, Shaq used to put the team on his back and at the end of the day gave them each a championship ring.

Shaq was always a front runner. He played from 92-11 and he never learned how to be an actual leader in the league. He always gets a pass for all those times his team got swept in the playoffs. 6 times, people.

If you saw prime Shaq (I doubt you did), then you would certainly understand why someone would pick 2000 Shaq over current LeBron and not be a Bran hater.

IMO, you can't go wrong with either and it depends what you value most but Shaq would demolish the current C position, so give my Shaq.

Who was Shaq's competition in the early 2000s? Jason Collins? 40 year old Arvydas Sabonis? D Rob on his last legs? Shaq put up numbers in the era of the epic big men, but didn't win anything until all the competition at the center position was gone.

Of course not. He's 13 claiming to be older to get people to listen. No one in their right mind would consider Shaq and LeBron equal in strength. Barely even relative to position are they equal in strength, let alone absolutely.

As for prime vs prime, it's not a huge difference, but I still think I take Shaq.

he never was the "last center left", he was the last great center left, but aside of that Duncan was taking over D-Robs spot and was already a great big man back then, you got Divac, Mourning (pre-disease), Dikembe, Ben Wallace, Yao Ming and Sabonis, who would maybe have beaten his ass if he wasn't that injury prone

It is just about hype. Peak-wise; Shaq has a strong case to be called the best ever and LeBron doesn't have one. Especially Shaq's 1999-00 season is a major candidate for the single best season by a player.

Frist title? First off Shaq beat Mutombo and the Sixers in '01; or his 2nd title, and second Mutombo only had one healthy season as a starter after that Finals run. If you don't call that his last legs I don't know what is.

I was actually talking about the centers who would do be able to actually make Shaq work for his points. Even prime Robinson and Hakeem couldn't stop him, so he would get his, but they're gonna make him work for it. The smallest among those dude is Noah, who's 6'11 and around 280. Pekovic has T-Rex arms, but he's a legit 6'11 and is strong as ****.

Again, I'm not saying that they're gonna stop Shaq (no one can), but they're gonna make him earn his points. Dwight is not the only one who can bother Shaq.
