It's still possible Spurs could overtake Miami and end up with HCA in a potential Game 7.
Really need to beat Miami on thursday.

The Spurs are what, the 2nd best team in the West even with all their injuries and shit? I'd take a healthy Spurs squad in a finals rematch.

I'd take Miami.
The Heat have only two important players who have declined in Battier and Allen. LeBron is better, Wade is better than last year because of his mid-range shot and health. Bosh is a better shooter and defender.
Spurs, though it isn't that noticeable, have a Duncan who has to save himself even more than last year. Manu's older, Parker is still good but has plateaued.
Spurs added Bellineli, Heat added Oden and Beasley.

healthy spurs if gino isnt allowed to throw away the game
Miami. Spurs had no business going 7 games with Miami last year. If Lebron had had the courage to take all the wide open jump shots Spurs (and IND) were giving him, the series would have been over sooner.
This year the chances are worse - Duncan is playing nowhere near his level last year. Splitter (who would be irrelevant vs MIA) seems content now he's got his contract. Manu and TD are a year older. The improvement from Neal to Bellineli and Patty Mills being used more is not enough to offset the decline in the older players. Besides, SAS can't get by a healthy OKC - bad matchup. I actually think that SAS matches up better with MIA than OKC.

I attribute SA's loss to Splitter's complete SCRUBBARY in that series.

Everybody always counts out the Spurs, every year. but give SA credit for knowing how to win (there's almost an art to it, knowing how to win versus having what it takes to win. SA is rich in experience in other words) and picking up Belinelli and giving Mills more freedom.
Either way... it depends more on the Spurs than on the Heat imo. Heat are capable of winning a series against opponents even when they're not playing 100% (ie. injuries, in a funk, older age, whatever), which to me means they're more talented/ultimately better...and... well, they have the best player in the game. That matters.
MIA didn't beat the Spurs one or two lucky times last Finals they did it 4 times (one was a blowout victory for the Heat). In those 4 wins, Lebron averaged 30 ppg, 10 rpg, 7 apg, and 3 spg... basically if he's on the heat are almost unstoppable.
Spurs are less capable of winning if their stars don't show up, or something else is off (defense or rebounding). Both Manu and Parker were effected by the Heat defense. Parker had a game winner but also had 4 games scoring 15 points or less (10 points / .25 FG% in Game 7 for instance, that's unacceptable). Can they both show up? Another problem for the Spurs is their lock-down defense has been on a steady decline for the last 5 years. Their 4th quarter defense is not what it used to be and they lack a Bowen type... Yet, they're still an elite team on both ends.
I'd say Miami in 6 or 7, unless Parker averages around ~25 ppg and Manu and Duncan play efficient, savvy ball. Manu has always been sporadic and that won't change, just needs to reign it in. He looks better this season, something to prove.

Let's forget that Manu travelled on his attempt and that Duncan illegally checked in before anything "controversial" happened which would give the Heat FT's.

If the Spurs are healthy (they seem to have a lot of injuries this season), I'm going with the Spurs. When completely healthy I think they're even better than last season especially with Belinelli. Hopefully Leonard continues to improve, Ginobili doesn't disappear in the finals again, Parker has a great run in the playoffs and Duncan plays amazing. They have what it takes to get back to the finals and beat Miami.
I'm not convinced yet that Miami will make it back to the finals. I think the Pacers might take them.

Blaming the refs lol. Even spurs fans don't do that.

As a Spur fan, I fear the Rockets more than Clippers - just a bad match-up. And of course, OKC is a nightmare - now it's not just KD and Westbrooke, but Ibaka and Reggie Jackson are giving them fits.

If the Spurs can move the ball like they did against the Cavs ... Spurs.
I guess that's a big IF.
I'm more interested to see how Diaw/Leonard match up against LeBron.
This is the regular season ... things get more real in a 7 game series and comes down to bench/rotations.

I love to see Lebron beat duncan in a best of 7 series again. They are a much weaker team compared to last season.

LeBron would have to go nuts for the Heat to win. And given his track record against the Spurs, I don't think that's very likely.

Obviously. But even in with our three stars past their primes you guys still had to force a game 7 against us. Stop acting like Miami had that series in the bag the whole time.

they didnt but Bosh was extremely disgustin in that series outyide of a few plays.
i feel he is much better this season, at least offensively and a healthy Wade speaks for itself:applause:
i think it would be over in 5 or 6 but you never know with great team the Spurs are and their at times unstoppable teamball and stars:bowdown:

There's no guarantee that the Heat (or Spurs, or any team that makes the Finals for that matter) are going to be completely healthy after three best of 7 series. Just because Wade is healthy now, doesn't mean he will be in the next Finals hypothetically.
I do agree that it's unlikely that the Spurs could match the performance they put on last Finals though. I'd take Miami today, but HCA would have a huge impact.
