View Full Version : who has the better supporting cast: lebron or durant?
westbrook > chalmers
thabo < wade
durant = lebron lebron better tho, mvp too
ibaka > shane
perkins < bosh
miami's bench have a bunch of old washed up veterans outside of super cool beas. okc have caron butler, so both benchs basically cancel each other out with pretty crappy players.
so the tally is
okc: 2
heat: 2
equal: 1

OKC's bench shits all over ours.
Nick Collison is so underrated, and you have a bunch of young guys like Lamb and Reggie Jackson coming off the bench. Not to mention Steven Adams is looking like a good pickup who always makes an impact in games.

i can't believe i forgot about reggie jackson, facepalm. reggie jackson alone is better than both chalmers and cole let alone the top three point guard in the league westbrook.

OKC.
Problem is they will never win anything because they are run by cheap hillbilly owners. They traded Harden for magic beans :oldlol:
No excuses for either team.
i will even go out on a limb here and say scott brooks is a better coach than erik spoelstra.

His rotations are borderline retarded.

Brooks is not a better coach than Spo, suggesting otherwise is just laughable.

OKC. I think they are just built better and have more depth. Miami has better shooters which is complimentary to Lebron's game but that is the only real advantage for MIA.

If Wade's playing, then Lebron.
All Net

depends on Wade's level
If he is the star/superstar if he can stay healthy then Miami least have a guy as good as Russell. As Wade on form then Miami will have 2 out of the best 3 players on the floor in their favour.

If lebron didn't play a single game this season his team could still easily be 2nd or 3rd in the east.
If durant didnt play his team wouldnt even make the playoffs.
lebrons supporting cast is far superior.

A Healthy Chris Bosh and Wade, along with a Prime LeBron James is too much for the rest of the league, as we've seen. The rest of the supporting don't even matter.

Assuming health for both teams...a slight overall edge to Lebron
The Thunder are going to rely on Fisher, Lamb, Perkins, and Adams playing real minutes
Too many questions out of those 4 for me to not give Lebron the edge in help.

That and as much as Battier/Ray have struggled you would still count on them come playoff time.

Lebron by far, the Thunder's front-court is essentially nonexistent.

Right...
Ray, Battier, and Birdman are just way more reliable, on paper at least, than Lamb, Adams/Perkins, and Fisher (he's just so old and he could just be done)
Having said all that, if Butler fills in nicely and plays well...Durant has better help. It's close either way...

I agree. Forget the regular season. I would trust Ray, Battier and Birdman in the playoffs more than the OKC guys.

OKC's core just need time in the playoffs and should continue to get better..Lamb for one has played well this year but the playoffs could be too much for him this year.

Always proven vets in the playoffs over the young guys. IMO atleast one of Lamb, Reggie or Adams will play terrible in the playoffs. Fish will be ok.

Battier shot under 30 percent on 5 ppg last playoffs, even though he was left open constantly... Ray Allen shot 43 percent, again left wide open a lot.
This is why people think Miami are stacked because they go off names too much, rather than actually looking at age, injuries, form, what they are actually producing now.
Wade will be lucky if he can get through a whole playoffs without breaking down or having games off... Allen and Battier are ancient. The cast outside of Durant is far better suited to his strengths, a better case than the outside of Lebron if you take age, health, chemistry, form into consideration and not just names.

If Westbrook was healthy and Ibaka playing at an all star level now the Thundar would be top 3 in the East without Durant. OKC has the deeper more productive and especially younger/fresher team.
The only one I trust is Anderson. Battier and Ray will both get hot for 1-2 games a series.
I dont trust any of OKC's bench outside of Fisher.
Bosh will always be an inconsistent 3rd option. I dont trust Wade's knees. And Ibaka is known to disappear.

Add Chalmers in there as well, dude is clutch. That's 4 legit playoff performers in addition the 3 stars. Definition of a stacked team.

At times, Spo has us thinking that he's the second coming of Riley, with his defensive schemes and plays, but there are times when his lineups drive you insane.

Yes and all that means is they are better suited long term..but for this year It's easy to say Lebron has the better short term playoff assets.

alot of people say that but i feel that is too general of a statement. even if wade is on form how much further behind is Westbrook?? many people consider him to be a top 10 player in the league right now... his impact on the game will be just as significant as Wade' if not more.

Either way Miami needs to retool after this run. I think this is the last legs of Battier and Allen getting major minutes. Miami needs some younger fresher talent if Lebron comes back. I would let Bosh walk and add 2 Players that equal 1 max. One wing and one big.

yeah, i know. I hope they tell him to play smart and pick and choose his times that he should dominate.i really don't want to see Wade going all out again till the ECF

Their supporting casts are almost equally imtimidating, but the difference is the players on the heat all have tons of experience. The Thunder are a young talented team but they are still improving.
While they still can do what their team needs them to do, wade, Allen, and Battier are on a decline. Westbrook, Reggie Jackson, Ibaka, and Lamb will only get better.
