Why is Dirk ahead of Wade?
lol jk. I agree with your list. If it's in order, I'd put KG over Dirk.

It depends on how we are doing the lists...I was trying to combine play with achievments...and it says since 00...not the 2000's by the way
If I was doing just by who I think the best players were that have played since 00...not career rankings or longevity stuff?

I'm not sure how KG is ranked over Lebron for the 2000's.
KG started going downhill slightly before the time when he went to Boston. And in Boston, he got injured in 2009 and was not the same player from 2010-2012.
Lebron's had more excellent years in this century.

Nope, Shaq and Duncan are clearly better than Kobe, although Kobe should be top 3 for sure. Allen Iverson? Hes a cancer.

I would put AI over paul and drop kidd. Also I dont see the argument for garnett over lebron.
Personally I would put dirk above him too, but that might just be bias.

No order...
Duncan, Shaq, KG, Dirk, Kobe, Lebron, Howard, Kidd, TMac (why aren't more people mentioning him?), Paul.
Maybe AI deserves to be in there, too, but not sure where he'd fit. Take out Howard? Nash for his offensive brilliance... Durant, but only for the last 3 years or so, so it's hard to put him there.
Pierce could be there, I guess.. again, over Howard... but why? Was he ever considered the best at his position, much less for 5+ years? Or win any serious individual hardware? Phenomenal player, don't get me wrong... but I don't see him being better than anyone mentioned. Has a better career than TMac, but Tracy clearly peaked higher.
I may have missed some people.

Shaq's work ethic is the only reason i put him out of the top 3.
But peak wise, he's at the top, followed by Lebron then Duncan.

Peak or career/all-time (or career only counting since the 2000)???

Pretty crazy to think that since MJ retired...we've basically seen 8 of the top 25 players of all time in their primes;
Kobe
Duncan
Shaq
Lebron
Dirk
Wade
KG
Durant (assuming no injury)

I was just doing career since 2000. But as with most all-time rankings, some players' peaks (TMac) should be more strongly considered than longevity (Ray allen, to a much lesser extent Pierce).

I did this from a career perspective so I left off Durant because he just hasn't had enough years in the league yet. I really wanted to put a guy like C-Webb on but he just didn't have the longevity. Really tough to do one of these lists.

Of course its mostly about career since 2000. If we talk about peak/prime performances Iverson, T-Mac, VC, Nash, Webber and even the likes of Gilbert Arenas deserve honorable mentions, but clearly longevity is the issue for these players.

That way, probably
1. Duncan
2. Shaq (would be #1 if it was full career)
3. Kobe
4. Lebron (will definitely finish above Kobe, at least, if he's not already)
5. KG
6. Wade
7. Dirk
gets tough at this point, actually after #4.. you got Pierce, Nash, Kidd, AI, Durant, CP3, T-Mac...
Again, peak and full career would be different.

There's really nobody besides Shaq who gives him a run for his money in this list.
Duncan has 3 titles in the 00s era, so you can't have him over 5 title Kobe. Lebron's getting closer at least, so maybe in five years this conversation will be closer.

Meh this list is weird for me as lebron will be #1 out of all these guys but I guess as of now You need to put Shaq and Duncan ahead of him.

its pretty damn sad that anyone has kobe not #1
think about it
kobes arguably above duncan/shaq period...
then you say "dont count anything before 2000
so you're taking away shaqs 1 finals, 12k points, 6 allstar games, 1 scoring title, 6 all nba teams
and you're taking away duncans 1 title, 1 fmvp
while you're incredibly boosting kobes career average from 25ppg to 28ppg
shaqs average goes down to 21ppg
shaq has 11 all nba/all defensive awards
while kobes has almost 30 all nba/all defensive awards since 2000
kobe 5 titles/7 finals
shaq 4 titles/5 finals
duncan 3 titles
not to mention
Sporting News NBA Athlete of the Decade (2000s)[94]
TNT NBA Player of the Decade (2000s)[95]
Sports Illustrated Top 20 Male Athlete of the Decade (2000s) #7 (the only NBA player in the top 10)[97]
Ranked #1 in Dime Magazine's 2012 list of the top 10 greatest players since the year 2000 (published in the September 2012 issue)[99]
:hammerhead: everyone not putting kobe #1 should be banned
