Wonderful news. There isn't a better situation for Melo right now.

If there's 1 thing that's been established the past few years, we're definitely all scared of the Bulls.

if melo indeed signs with them, that Chicago team would be one of the most fun teams to watch next year. and even more so if gibson is given the starting 4 spot.

that team should go for a shooter like meeks as a back up 2, as well

Injuries have robbed us of some potentially epic Bulls Heat playoffs series. To pretend otherwise is just being a dumbass.

On paper, a Thibs led Anthony, 90-95% MVP form Rose, Noah and Gibson Bulls could give the Heat all they can handle. That would be the best EC team the Heat would face in their championship runs.

That was 2011, totally different teams today. What happened then has no bearing on what can happen today or next year...

Kirk
Butler
Melo
Gibson
Noah

is a much better team than 2011 bulls.. No glaring hole like Bogans starting.. Noah is better now.. tough nosed smart PG who can make good decisions. Better balance, not just relying on Rose to do everything

Not true. Anyways, that was 2011, totally different teams today.

This. that was a pre jimmy butler era and was before gibson had a more predominant role with the team. they improved drastically over the past 2 years, and they were never bad to begin with.

Just hope LeBron doesn't leave Miami. That'll make what happened to the 07 Heat look like a picnic Then again, you'd just become a life long fan of whatever team Bron goes to, right Bran stan?

Bulls should trade Rose while they still have a chance to do so.

They should move him to LA for their top 5 pick in the draft this year

That gives them the space to sign Melo outright and then they can amnesty Boozer and go after a PG such as Isiah Thomas whose defensive issues would be solved by the Bulls' system

Thomas
Butler
Melo
Gibson
Noah

+ top 5 pick

That's a contender

No chance in hell Melo goes to a Chicago team that literally hinges on Rose's knees.

Bulls:
Rose
?
Anthony
Boozer
Noah

That's 3 Players when healthy CURRENT ALL STARS.
Anthony=One of the best Scorers in the League.
Rose=One of the best PG's in the League.
Noah=One of the best defenders in the Leage.

Boozer=Former All Star.

All they'd need at SG would be a great role player/shooter. If they fill that spot with another former all star/great role, and/or get a 6th man type of the bench, that's some serious competition right there.

Bulls lose on the Deng Trade? Dude was an All Star last 2 Years 2012&2013!

butler is their starting sg for the foreseeable future. his 3 pt shot still needs a lot of work, but hes great at getting to the basket. but what he excels the most at is defense, so theres no way thibs would start someone else over him. same goes for gibson. what he brings defensively to the team will allow him to replace boozer, since melo would take over a lot of the offensive load.

Thibs said it wouldnt make sense to bring in Anthony after trading Deng who is a superior defensive player

i understand thibs reasoning, but the bulls biggest issue this year after rose went down was that they had no one who could create their own shot. at least until the got augustine. so next year will be a lot of the same if rose doesnt come back healthy. and even if he does, theyll still need another go to scorer to rely on other than rose.

Melo/Taj/Mirotic/Noah is a pretty decent frontcourt.

A healthy Rose along with Melo, Noah, Butler and Taj Gibson would be absolutely scary.

C: Noah
PF: Taj
SF: Melo
SG: Butler
PG: Rose

There's not one weakness in that starting lineup. They can score, play defense, rebound.
