View Full Version : What's more dominant, Wilt's 100 on Imhoff or Shaq's dunk/hump on dudley?

Both Knicks opponents are the same size athletically though Imhoff turned out to be a slightly better player. Shaq dunked on Dudley then humped him and pushed him like a bully but he only scored 21 points that game. Wilt actually set the NBA record against Imhoff. Both opponents white Knicks centers about 6-10 without shoes, and both about 235lbs. So what's more dominant, Shaq's dunk on Dudley or Wilt's 100 points on Imhoff? :confusedshrug:

This. ^

Everything that happened before the modern era (IMO modern era started in the 80s) means very little to me. None of those guys would matter in the modern era so why should their accomplishments matter? They did it against inferior competition.

Wilt never tried to hang on the rim, violation in his day, if he or even several of the bigs of his era had attempted to hang by the rim, every single dunk of theirs would have been liable to result in a shattered backboard... The first dunk you posted is what 60's rims were built like... non-break away bolted directly to glass. Those were phased out in the late 70's and early 80's due to Darryl Dawkins not giving a f*ck about rim violations and damaged NBA property. This lead to all players following that era being accustomed to hanging on the rim for at least a brief moment, and refs don't care nor should they - but those types of dunks weren't possible prior to the break away rim. So, sorry, but Wilt could have duplicated that easily, as a Laker and as a '64 Warrior he was bigger, stronger and heavier than both of those versions of Shaq. Wilt didn't even touch the rim on some of his dunks he just threw the ball through cleanly, that's why the ball bounces back up so high when Wilt dunks but when Shaq dunks the ball gets stopped by the net :oldlol:

Everyone knows the rims were 50 percent bigger in the 60s and 70s... thats why the ball went straight through without touching the net.

all claims that will never be proven. sure wilt would smashes twice as much rims beacause he was heavier and you like him so much. cool story bro. and it will never be anything but a story.
