View Full Version : Noah and Melo colluding to stack the deck?

:facepalm What happened to competition? We have Noah shamelessly trying to recruit his arch rival Melo, while both players are still in their prime! I guess we can just hand the Eastern Conference to the Bulls the next 5 years, since these beta cowards all wanna join their competition.

I know this is a troll thread and I shouldn't be responding to it, but even though I love Noah to death, I really am not a fan of players recruiting other players. It stinks. Let the FO handle all that.

I was obviously joking around a bit in my post, but I do want to know what is the difference between Lebron, Wade, and Bosh teaming up vs Rose, Noah, and Carmelo. People said the biggest problem with the Heat doing it is because the players were all in their primes. Well, so are Rose, Noah, and Melo. :confusedshrug:

LOL @ colluding with Melo.
Only purpose for doing that would be to sell shoes. Not winning games.

melo and noah arch rivals ?:oldlol:
I support this. Even without rose the bulls are one scoring threat away from contending

If Lebron and Wade were supposedly rivals then so are Noah and Melo.

Theres a difference between being an efficient scorer with an IQ like dirk, durant, bran etc and then theres a volume scorer who doesnt impact the game but collects stats that look cool to the dumb fans. That would be Melo.

Good.
They must have learned their lesson from Rose apparently not trying very hard to get Lebron to go their in 2011.

nah melo is not a low-iq player even though some try to portray him that way
he has chucking tendencies but Im sure the bulls coaching staff will reel that in

Then what good is he? The only way he can score a lot of points is to chuck heavily. Thats the point. If you take that away, he becomes a very average player. (Statistically, he alrdy is a very average player in reality).
He DOES have a low IQ and lacks discipline. Right now hes the most overrated player in the game. The Bulls are a TEAM and melo plays like an individual. He wouldnt actually improve them, just change their dynamic. It wouldnt be them plus him, it would be him instead of them. Same results.

Don't see it doable unless he takes a decent sized pay cut.
Rose: 18.8m
Boozer: 16.8m
Noah: 13.1m
48.7M with only 3 contracts. Salary cap is 58.6m. Bulls have 7 players locked in for 63M next season. They'd have to amnesty Rose or Boozer to make it happen.
He gives them more options on offense, but their defense also takes a step back since you'd now have 2 sieves in Boozer/Melo. You can cover up 1 sieve. 2 will get consistently exposed. Can imagine Lebron and KD absolutely feasting when those 2 are on the floor.
All in all, Melo's addition still doesn't make Chicago an elite team. Deng was a much better fit.

The knicks lose games because they suck. Melo would definitely contend with a good defensive and rebounding team, he is that good offensively. The bulls need exactly what melo brings and in turn the bulls provide exactly what melo needs.

Nope. With a healthy Rose (from 2010) and if they kept Deng... then yes.

People said the biggest problem with the Heat doing it is because the players were all in their primes. Well, so are Rose, Noah, and Melo. :confusedshrug:Personally, I thought the circumstances surrounding the LeBron James situation were unique, largely due to how special I viewed him as a basketball player. I don't think there's been any NBA player on his level since at least 2006, and he's one of the best of all-time.
I think many stars could team up and still struggle to compete for a championship. But I thought LeBron James was so good (good enough to make Cleveland an elite championship contending team for many years) that if he were to have teamed up with multiple dream teamers (as he did), championships would become foregone conclusions, whether the team played up to their own potential or not.
James is special, and my little personal NBA narrative preference was for him to win (or attempt to win) as he was already trying to do. He took the cards he was dealt, maximized them, dominated, and nearly led his own squad to the promised land on multiple occasions, as if it were to say, "I'm good enough to make any team a contender, because I play the right way and I'm unstoppable." Trading that in for insane overkill and transforming into a mega overdog was at odds with what I previously liked about James most.
To put it succinctly, I'm not sure there's any other players who could team up right now and make it as sure of a bet as LeBron James teaming up with two dream teamers.

Team is whack as hell, especially since Rose will play maybe 6 games. Then it'll be the Knicks all over again.
Better to collude with his '03 buddies and take a pay cut.

I love to see how fans care so much how a team is formed.
Rose, Melo, Noah is actually worse than WB, Durant, and Ibaka..and worse than Lebron/Wade/Bosh...and marginally better, if at all, than Paul, Griffin, Jordan
Who cares how teams join up...I've never understood it.
And then you have guys like KG that stay in Minny all his years...and what do the same moronic fans say???? KG just wanted the money and it was on him find his way to a contender.
Yea...I really want to watch a deplete league in which some of the best players are on shit teams. Yep...it was so fun watching Kobe and Lebron on shit teams in 06 and 07...it would have sucked if they had the best teams in the league.
I'll never understand it...

How is that terrible? Mirotic has all-star potential, Snell is a solid 3 & D guy, Augustin has been very good for the Bulls since signing, and Hinrich/Dunleavy are two solid vets. It's not the BEST bench, but it's solid. Especially if they sign a decent defensive center :confusedshrug:

Nothing brings more joy to a Bean stan's heart than watching his gawd chuck to the Heavens. 81 nikka, 81. Bron stans on the other hand love everything stacked- pancakes, decks, teams. Different strokes for different folks.

Well, I just meant from a basketball perspective. It's a lot more fun to watch Kobe playing on good teams deep in the playoffs than it is watching him play with scrubs outside Odom and losing in the first round back to back years in the heart of his prime
Call me crazy I guess...
Westbrook and Durant works I dont see why Rose and Melo can't. Its an intriguing duo to say the least.
I dont like recruiting players but players today do it. They are also friendly. No rivalries besides on twitter. It's corny and I liked the old school approach. But what Noah did is right on par with todays players so. Whatever. Not a fan of the new era friendly crap much like I'm not a fan of these dudes wardrobe.

I disagree with a lot of what you say but I love your writing style :lol
Melo would work so well like a defensive minded coach like Thibs.
But does anyone really see Rose coming back and staying healthy at this point? I honestly can't.

Sadly no.
But what do you do? Signing Augustin as backup would be a good idea, but I think he will want a payday and a bigger role.
