View Full Version : Sleeved Jersey's bothering Bron?
JT123
03-07-2014, 02:45 AM
He made comments about it in the post game interview. I know most will say he's just making excuses, but there may be evidence that the jerseys are indeed screwing up his shooting. I believe the only other time the Heat wore sleeves this season was at the Lakers on Christmas day, and Bron only made one jumper in that game. Thoughts?

Whatever. It's not a regular thing. If it's harder to shoot 3 games per season, it's not a big deal.

Whether they're effecting his shot or not, the sleeves are hideous and need to be abolished.

Did you not see my post with tweets from December. Miami plays like 5 times a season with sleeves, I think. Why the hell would they change their shooting style for 5 freaking games? These sleeves would definitely **** with their game, if it becomes more common. It's not just LeBron complaining, BTW. Those sleeves look ****ing stupid anyways. They should just get rid of them. Also, you could see LeBron tugging on the sleeves and complaining during the game. Me and this other dude posted in the GT when he did that.

Ok whatever? check this out though
bosh shot 10-16 tonight
d wade shot 7-15 (not bad for wade)
timmy went 9-13
Meanwhile in Phoenix (suns wore sleeves)
Green dropped 41
Morris bros went 13-20
but ya its the jerseys
Wade air balled like 3 shots. One of which was when he was playing in the post. He averages near 56% from the field and shot 47% todays. Bosh was on fire though and most of Timmy's points came in the paint. All I'm saying is that Lebron complained about the jerseys BEFORE this game. So did Allen, Battier, Curry, Dirk, Beno, and a ton of other players. Some players might like it, but most don't. I remember reading a BR article, in which over 20 players who were interviewed by them hated the sleeved jersey. Besides, it's ugly.
Here's a clip of Beno:

Sleeves have no effect on physical ability to shoot unless they're wearing them WAY too tight. It's all mental effect, which is something we're accustomed to with LeBron.

Obviously to make money. Wearing a sleeveless shirt in public, outside life post college where bro tanks are acceptable, is generally seen as very trashy. This does 1 thing and hopes to do another. 1. lead to more jersey sells because some idiots want 1 of everything/want to buy into the trend. 2. lead to wearing basketball jerseys in public being socially acceptable because its sleeved, so people will buy more jerseys.

They already have those team tight fitted shirts with the name and number on the back. That's basically a sleeved jerseu. Why have they introduced this crap? It looks likd the players are playing in a pickup game at the park.

I hate playing ball in t-shirts so I get it. It's about how sleeves feel restrictive to your shooting motion. Just because some players get used to it doesn't mean it's not an issue. It just makes no sense why the NBA would implement these given that sleeveless is universally liked, whereas I'm sure a good percentage of players have trouble with the sleeves.
And WTF would a 4x MVP, back to back champion who just dropped 60 have to make an excuse anyway? I swear people just don't think.

My guess is that the sleeves are here to stay. Silver is floating them out now to "test" them. In reality, he is getting players and fans acclimated to them so that he can use them as ad space in the future.

It would be one thing if he complained just one day randomly... but after a game after a loss is the most softest thing a player can do. Lebron has absolutely no dignity. Like 6 inches of fabric made him lose by almost 30 points. What about the other team?? Have they been training in t shirts and full sleeved shirts or something. Lebron is such a bitch... and I like Lebron

"Spurs guard Manu Ginobili and forward Kawhi Leonard both expressed their displeasure in wearing the jerseys. Giniboli wore a uniform one size bigger to improve comfort.
“I got a bigger size,” Ginobili said. “In the morning, I went to shoot and I felt it was a little tight … In my case, the size I usually play with it, I had to bump one more because I need the freedom. I’m not used to playing with braces, pads, stuff like that.”
Added Leonard, “I don’t like the sleeve jerseys, either. Just something I’m not used to. Just felt a little tight.”
Heat guard Dwyane Wade and center Chris Bosh were also among those to complain. Bosh was the only member of Miami’s Big Three to shoot 50 percent from the field.
“I’m not as big as LeBron,” Bosh said. “His shoulders are a little bit bigger than mine. He likes to wear smaller sizes. He kept saying it was tugging on his underarm a little bit. I’ve always said I’m more of an old-school type of basketball player. They’ve been having tank top jerseys for 100 years. They should keep it that way.”
Wade would prefer to wear traditional jerseys, but said the sleeves weren’t the cause of the Heat’s worst loss of the season.
“It ain’t the reason we lost,” Wade said. “You’re just not used to it. They [the Spurs] didn’t have a problem with it. It is what it is. Let’s not make this about a jersey, please. We got our butts kicked. That’s it.”

Perhaps, but I would personally rather see the NBA move toward sleeved jerseys than have sponsor logos with marquee position on the jerseys like in European soccer and basketball. I think given that choice, most NBA fans would agree. However, it might head in that direction if the players feel strongly about the sleeves.

I hate playing with sleeves on. Some people can play with them on, some can't. I don't think the sleeved jerseys will still be around after this season if Lebron is complaining about them and I'm glad. It would almost be like trying to make soccer (football for non-americans) players play in pants.
