I'm having back surgery in a few days. I'm having a 2 level fusion done. I get back spasms from time to time, but like 2 days ago my shit locked up on me. I've been downing Flexerils like there's no tomorrow but they haven't worked. I finally got my script filled for Norcos and I can tell a difference. I was able to get out the bed without excruciating pain.
Damn, best of luck. I have back problems and they suck (acting up the last 2 weeks), but nothing near needing surgery.

Back problems is the worst thing to have.
Good luck with surgery.

I just gotta make it to Wednesday. I'll be in the hospital for about a week after surgery and then I can go home. I'll be off work for 16 weeks if everything goes ok. I won't be able to play ball for at least a year is what the doctor told me.

dam man hope it all goes well, just curious are you tall? Was there an injury that did your back in or was the problem developed over time?
That sounds horrible. Hope you recover.

What the hell? I've seen that video before (here and there over the years), but the guy apparently recently started his own youtube channel. He seems like he has humbled, but still acts/behaves in a similar manner about 30 years later: https://www.youtube.com/user/BrianAtene101?feature=watch

happened to me once when I was ripping a shower out.
I literally could not get up. My wife had to help me get off the bed. It was agonizing. Standing up I was fine.. but getting up after sitting or laying down was a whole different story. A couple of days of muscle relaxers and I was as good as new.

back problems suck man, sorry to hear that. i have 2 herniated discs that would cause pain in my shoulder and tingling down my arm. surgery was an option, but i opted for regular therapeutic massages instead and haven't had any problems since i started that.
you may wanna look into that and avoid the surgery.
either way hope it works out for ya

I had chronic lower back pain for years that would occasionally flare up to the point that I could barely get out of bed. It's a common problem in my profession. On the advice of a friend I bought an inversion table and started using it for a few minutes in the morning and when I got home from work. Made a world of difference. I was able to get relief from compressed discs and get some good stretching exercises in. I haven't had to use it for the last 2 years.

I have degenerative disc disease so my disc just wear down rapidly. I've always had back pain but the last 2 years have been brutal. I had 2 minor procedures done but they didn't help. I'm hoping like hell these fusions work though.

Oh man my pain just went away these last few days, was there for about a week and completely locked my entire body up.
It originally came after a lot of golf 4-5 years ago, I was laying on the floor almost 3 straight days after getting home from the chiropractor. He said nothing could be done because it was a swollen disc I believe, just rest.
I can honestly say it's the most pain I've ever felt, messes with my breathing as well. Last week was pretty rough too.
I feel ya OP.
