You gonna put them in the Top 50's? You're going to squeeze a lot of players from the 50s out. You're going to upset a lot of grannys for stating that.

Who on the top 50 would he knock off? And, using that same logic, I say NO to Ray Allen, even though I just said maybe.

Why you gotta be like that again :coleman:

No, but it's meaningless. It is. Imagine on Dirk's list of achievements randomly popping up some "all time mavs leader rebounds, points, fg's, etc." who cares. Literally no value.

All time lists are so irrational and all over the place I really just laugh when I see people post theirs. They have literally almost no context, have some players ranked over others for longevity and place other for rings or peak play.

Comparing the players to the people they played against in the league at that time is the best ranking that you can do because it gives context and the stories of how people remember them change over time.

My list simply is who impacts a game the most and did it for how many years. Everything else is jibberish and espn & media story time.

Saying that,

Duncan
kobe
lebron
wade
garnett
paul
durant
nash
Dirk

All likely make my top 50. Hopefully I didn't forget anyone but I may have.

By my reckoning, Debusschere, Cunningham and Wilkins all have the weakest case for being in the top 50. Allen Iverson already took one of those spots. Duncan, Kobe are the other two.

So now, since the three mentioned as being least likely were already kicked off... who do Lebron, Wade and Dirk replace? Then who, on the top 50 list, is worse than Howard, Paul, etc? This is not the HOF. Players need to be kicked off when another one joins...

Other than the guys named:

Nash
Dirk

These two are in for sure. U also have to consider Pierce and Ray because I feel both are in the top 10 GOAT for their respective positions. CP3 is gonna have a great shot for that in the near future as well, but I don't think he's there yet. Durant looks like he's gonna shoot up the charts very fast but I can't put him in the top 50 yet. Howard and Melo I think have an outside shot too eventually, but they aren't in now. If Vince Carter could have ended his prime a bit better in terms of a bit more longevity and team success, he actually would have been on par with Pierce and Ray in terms of a possible top 50 spot. I actually think the sleeper out of everybody is Tony Parker. I don't think he's quite top 50 yet. Many guys are mentioned before him who haven't played long enough or have accomplished what he has.

That's interesting and I agree with u! Well we all know Kobe, Bron, Wade, Dirk, Nash, KG, and Duncan are locks for a new Top 50 list. From there u have guys that one day could get in. Or that seem to be on track. In terms of retirements of guys in the last three years AI and Kidd are locks for a new top 50. So these 9 recent legends of the 2000s are gonna knock off 10 guys already in the top 50 FOR SURE! From there, u have to at least consider Pierce and Ray because they are two of the top 10 GOAT at SF and SG respectively.

I agree with a lot of what u said. But Nique didn't make the original 50 list, even though at the time I thought he was deserving. And I feel Nique still is worthy of being on that list because he's scored my points than any SF ever.

Jerry Lucas
Gary Payton
Allen Iverson
Dave Cowens
Bob McAdoo

So its not so easy for me to squeeze KD, Carmelo, Howard or even Nash there at this moment.

Dwight shuts down when pressure presents itself. I'm not bitter, I'm happy for Dwight, but he tends to shut himself down just because he's not capable or still inexperienced when it comes to crucial moments or what not.

If Ben Wallace were to be the #1 defender, Dwight would be around 6 or 8.

Overall, Dwight is the better player.

A lot of people needs to be kicked off the top 50 list if we're remaking it. The likes of Paul Arizin, Pete Maravich aren't good enough.

Obvious ones are Lebron, Kobe, Duncan, KG, wade

Any of these players below have an argument, in no particular order:
Dirk
Nash
Pierce
Iverson
Payton
Kidd
Ray Allen
CP3
Durant
Miller

People sleeping on Nash, deserved of his MVPs or not he was a beast in his prime. He was definitely the best PG in the game for me for a couple of years. His defense gets too much hate, he wasn't THAT great but his offense more than makes up for it.
Anyways, 2x MVP 8x all star more than enough to put him in the top 50.

The obvious locks are Duncan, LeBron, Kobe, Dirk, KG and Wade.
The "very possibly" top 50 players are Durant, Paul, Nash, Pierce, Howard.
Bets for the future would be AD, Griffin, Love, Westbrook, Harden, George. They're not close to being there yet but their career trajectory is on the right path.

The top 50 is going to get more and more exclusive with time, though, so the Ray Allens of this world are going to have a tough spot finding a place in it.
