View Full Version : So who the hell is in the lead in the MVP race?

Durant has lost 2 games in a row, Lebron has lost 3. In those games, Lebron posted sub-par stat lines (for his standards), although he played against two of the best defenses in the league. Durant posted good stat lines, but against only one respectable defense and then an awful one. The Thunder are 46-17, the Heat 43-17. Thunder 3-5 in last 8 games (since Brook's return), Heat 5-3.

I would say Durant has the slight edge, but Lebron can easily jump ahead if the Thunder continue in this slump - losing to a Lakers team and giving Jodie Meeks his career game was embarrassing. This is gonna be close in the end I think.

The guy with the best record.

Timothy.

Pretty damn close, but both have been choking. KD's triple double tonight was empty, and he turned down the last shot. Losing to the lakers is BAD. I'd say it's about even

Lebron still, since that 61 pt game.

Lebron and Durant losing have negated each other out. So this past week has been neutral, with Lebron still leading.

Durant still has the edge at the moment

It's very very close. All depends on if LeBron bounces back from this and who finishes with the better record.

If Miami beats Indy in the last 2 games they have against each other and LeBron finishes the year strong, then I can totally see him taking it.

lebron lost to contenders the last three games, durant just lost to a lottery team.

Giannis has been pissing me the **** off lately. He's going full Michael Beasley on my Bucks, playing every game like he just smoked grade-A ganja. Can't wait till we get Embiid, Exum, Wiggins, or Parker over here to light a fire under his ass. Dude has legit GOAT potential but he's ****ing oblivious to it right now.

Nobody. LeBron and Durant are playing hot potato with the trophy, neither wants it. :facepalm

Giannis does not have GOAT potential and none of the other people listed in this thread matter as far as the MVP goes.

The MVP race is not altered by random games on a Sunday in March.

Christ, this site is done for.

Explain to me how what I said isn't true. You think Griffin would seriously win MVP over Durant or Lebron?

BuffaloBill

serious question, why can't someone else win it? Yes, KD and Bran are the best players in the league, by a large margin. But shit if Steve Nash is a two time MVP, why can't somebody like Tim Duncan, Joakim Noah, Dwight Howard, or Dragic win the mvp?

Durant and Lebron are so ridiculously better than everyone else in the league it will be joke if they dont win it.

Because its always given to the clear best player on the best team. Spurs don't have a clear best player (its probably Duncan but they have Parker), neither do the Rockets, and Noah + Dragic's teams don't have nearly the record needed to be in contention.

Durant + Lebron are the clear best players on their team and boast the records to be in contention.

Literally no one said he'd win it over KD or Lebron.

But to say he "doesn't matter" when he's put up 28/9/4/1/1 on 55% shooting (60 TS%) in his last 34 games while leading the Clippers to a 24-10 record in that stretch (most of it without CP3)...well that's just ****ing stupid.

It doesn't matter. Yeah, he is playing great but in terms of votes he is not playing great enough for him to garner enough attention over Durant or Lebron...therefore it doesn't matter. It is that simple.

Just because mistakes were made before doesn't mean they should happen again.

So far, no one other than Durant and Lebron have a case for MVP.
