Wow. Also a nice game from Jeremy Lin
James Harden was too clutch in this game and he has proved this season that he's one of the best players in the game.

Made up for it by shooting 7-12 from 3 (a bunch in the 4th quarter) and drawing FTs.
Strangely, Wes Matthews drew more FTs than he did despite being half as aggressive.

You didn't watch the game did you? He had one of the most clutch performances I've seen all year, you really can't be trying to argue that going 7 for 12 on 3s and 10-11 on free throws was inefficient?

The Houston Rockets were down 12 with 5 min left in the 4th. James Harden's threes, and Lin's shooting got us the win. Harden tied the game though

There is no doubt Harden got going because of some star calls but he definitely torched Portland. Wesley Matthews will blame his missed free throw but it's his defense on Harden. He had let Harden get off a ton of 3's because he didn't fight over a screen.

He's kind of their PG half the time. He's the center of their offense and if he isn't scoring well he gets them going on that end with his playmaking/passing. In his first year as a starter on a new team he carried a team that many analysts ranked one the worst in the NBA power rankings to the playoffs. Love has been on the T-Wolves how many years and can't get them above .500..

Don't doubt it.
Would rather have Harden than Lamb/Adams.
We also got 8 million from that deal after the whole K-Mart thing so it could still work out better long-term but as of right now they're a better team with Harden, no question.
Dude isn't very reliable against legit perimeter D though. Dude turns into scrub mode against OKC and WILL shit the bed in a 7 game series against a liable defense. Still not over that f*ggot crashing OKC's party in 2012.

You just made an off-topic comment. Why you gotta always hate on Harden? He had a fantastic game. 1st player since Michael Jordan in 1986 to have 40+/10/5+/5+. Kobe didn't do it, LeBron never did it, KD didn't, Hakeem, Tim Duncan, Shaq, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird... I could keep going on and on.

Yet people still dislike him..not sure why.People dislike him because he's very much a manufactured star. His offensive game is still limited, and he's relying on the refs to blow the whistle when he charges into defenders, which is annoying as hell to watch for opposing teams. He has that old euro move introduced by Detlef Schrempf.
Having a healthy Howard come and play next to him was the best thing that could ever happened for Harden, as it hides his weaknesses on the offensive end.

No, people dislike him because he's a great player, elite even. Great players catch a lot of heat. See LeBron, Durant, and Paul George recently.
Harden is the best 2 guard in the league and fans of opposing teams feel threatened and insecure. The hate stems from a combination of fear, insecurity and jealousy. Has nothing to do with his game.

Erm, no. People don't like Harden because of his flopping, foul drawing kind of offensive game. His offensive game is limited, which has been proven come Playoff time where he has been choking it away so far in his career. Harden might be the best 2 guard in the league right now, but that aint saying much. There's no quality two guards around, except for Wade, who's more injured than not at this point.
Let's see how Harden does this year now that he has Howard to take the pressure off of him and get him some open threes.

hes close to the felton level of fatness but since hes still athletic it is good for him.

Yep, serious hate for a baller. Notice the sucky players don't get hate.
People hate Harden cause hes not on their team. Hes got great range, can score from anywhere, rebounds, assists, plays great defense (when he wants to, as evidenced by his nearly 3 steals per game since the ASB), hits his free throws and is super clurch. Anybody would love to have him.
And everybody who doesn't loves to hate him.

those 3 steals are not coming from locking down someone one on one.

He stripped Lebron twice in the fourth quarter last week. He locked down David Lee after Jones couldn't handle him. He checked Paul George. His defense has been top notch in the last three weeks or so. Hes got 24 steals in his last 9 games.
His defense is vastly improved lately. Hes embracing that super star title.

Matthews was 5-15 from the field and got his points from the ft line. When Harden does that, you'd be the first to say its garbage and his offense sucks, but when Harden's opponent goes 12-13 from the ft line, hes awesome.
Which is it? Do FTs count towards a offensive skill or not?

first matthews doesnt always do that.
second some of hardens calls are legit, some are straight flops.
third it was just an example, he wasnt even on matthews the entire time

Harden's defense has improved since the ASB, but he still gets really lazy in spots and lets his man just blow past him. For me to consider him a good-great defender he needs to get much more consistent on that side of the ball. For now, despite some great defensive plays as of late, I still consider him an average defender at best. A few weeks of good play doesn't make up for him being a below average defender for most of career.
