But you technically get more day lights, yeah? Winter blue is officially over.
I'd rather have not lost the hour of sleep. Plus, having it light out at 8:30pm isn't amazing or anything. Daylight savings is unnecessary in this day and age.

People who dont like daylight savings time have issues.
Of course them injuns didnt care about it, they didnt have clocks or schedules. They just finish doin whatever theyre doin when they want. The westerner finishes his work at six o'clock or whatever time in the evenin, he wants some time to enjoy the sunshine.

Adjust the shift to occur on a Friday at 4pm = Problem solved : D
It ain't too much of a big deal but don't see why it's necessary to begin with.

Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but I believe it's main purpose is to conserve energy.

Correct. I believe there have been disputes over whether it ultimately conserves a significant amount or not, but that was the idea behind doing it to begin with.
Plus sunlight does raise serotonin levels. I mean seriously, why not daylight savings time? Why the **** NOT??
Doesn't really bother me. Just reprogram your brain. Within a few weeks to months your body will adjust to it.

it takes me one day to adjust with my sleeping patterns

I get for some that it sucks to adjust especially if takes a few weeks or months, or if there is no real significant benefit to day light savings. I do find it interesting that conserving energy is the main reason when it's rarely a concern to most.

Pretty sure it started during WWI so rationing fuel and energy was more important and possibly easier to control.

Just was talking about the modern era, seems like there is not a noticeable benefit and I can understand why it upsets people to adjust especially if it takes a few weeks.

It really doesn't make any sense. You want to wake up an hour earlier? Wake up earlier. It's important to your business? Make your employees start working an hour earlier. But for the general population it's just an irritation that serves no real purpose. Most of us have no idea why we're doing it beyond the government telling us to.

Yeah, who knows. We might see the benefits of it increase dramatically if we start to utilize solar energy more in the next 10-20 years.

I'll never forget reading a debate about DST among letters to the editor of my local paper years ago. One guy's argument was that it provides farmers with an extra hour of sunlight. :biggums:

that's what i was taught in elementary school. That this was done by the farming lobby so they would have more time to do what they need to do and conduct their business.

Oh I understand that. This dude actually thought the government had the power to produce an extra hour of light each day.

its actually same hours of sunlight even without the daylight savings. they also made daylight savings earlier 5 6 years ago without any reason.

I was told that as well when I was a kid. I've also heard it was an idea of Benjamin Franklin's. An in-depth examination of it for the interested. (http://www.webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/c.html) It may or may not save power, we aren't sure. Basically we do it because we've been doing it and will continue to be doing it.

That has more to do with the earth's rotation around the sun than any law.

Another reason is fall back makes it so kids don't have to walk to school in the dark.
