To me being Alpha is a character thing, not a physical, or being a loudmouth like everyone here is talking about.

To me an Alpha male would be someone who can step up during a heart thumping situation. Not someone who spends his days working out, or being loud and aggressive towards others.

In fact, I find those who are loud and aggressive towards others to be beta, because if you get the upperhand on them, they coward. In sense they are closer to animal, where even the alpha male can one day be a beta.
